When I was leaving home to come to the studio (yes, I’m still here 😄) I stopped at the post office to check our mail.
I was thrilled to get not one, but two parcels.
The first was a box of special goodies from Mad About Patchwork. I had won a gift certificate from this sweet shop when I did the Follow Your Own Path quilt along hosted by Sandra Walker from MMM Quilts.
Those fabrics were the exact colours I needed to make another Let Your Star Shine quilt by MMM Quilts. It was so appropriate to find them when I was using my gift certificate. Thank you Sandra.
I also had placed an order from Connecting Threads. My longarm absolutely loves their Essentials Thread and since I was hoping to get the studio to use the longarm, I really needed more thread. 😉
I can admit to having used a few of those spools this week, but I’ll post about that another day.
Thanking for spending your time with me. 😉 Carol
Happy mail is the best, and those thread colors are pretty cool! Can’t wait to see how you are using them!

Ohh, those colorful threads!!! 😍 It looks like you favor blue, purple and green. Wow, that Silly Moon Quilting has a million rulers! I don’t know what their “Dude” ruler is for, but it sure is cute!!!

Hi Nancy. I do love blue, purple and green but also the very other colour, too! It just happens that half of the 40 or so quilts that need to be finished have those shades.😉. Aren’t Silly Moon rulers intriguing?

Hi Carol! Isn’t it just the best?!! Not only receiving Happy Mail, which is pretty darn sweet on its own. But then, to receive something that is JUST PERFECT for another project. When all the stars align like that you know you were meant to have all of it happen. Yay for you. And those threads do look pretty, too. I really need to give that brand a try. The sewing machine certainly lets each of us know what it likes and doesn’t. ~smile~ Roseanne

Hi Roseanne. It is sweet when the stars align. I first ordered some Essential 40 wt because Sandra had an affiliate link on her blog so I thought I’d give Connecting Threads a try. Less than 2 weeks for cross border shipping and mylong arm only loves that thread or Aurifil. 😉

What fun mail!!! I’m sure you’ll really enjoy the fabric and the threads … and did I spy “Turkey” silly moon ruler in with your fabric? 🙂

Hi Gail. It was happy fun mail and yes, “Turkey” is the first of Silly Moon’s rulers to find its way to my collection (thanks to your recommendation!) 😉

I can’t wait to hear how the thread works on your long arm. I have tried piecing with it and I will admit I am a bit of a thread snob, I was impressed.

Hi Colette. I’m afraid I have to confess to being a thread snob as well. My Avante is very finicky. She only likes Aurifil or the Essential thread so far. I highly recommend it. 😉

Oh such wonderful threads! Hardly seems possible that all will eventually be used, but then it just happens. Enjoy your quilting time.

Yay! just look at that beautiful array of threads! My longarm loves their thread too; heck she works well with pretty much any thread. 🙂 I have a humongous quilt loaded, just procrastinating starting, because, you know… angst. I can’t wait to see LYSS sewn up in those fabrics, yum!

Sandra I love the fact that you convinced me to try MAP in Ottawa and Connecting Threads. Both are incredible. LYSS is done with those pretty fabrics and your pattern is linked. I think after II finish working the Elections I will need a break at the studio to play with my longarm. Looking forward to seeing what you do on your humongous quilt 😄
