Weekend Sewing Fun

I’ve been continuing on with cutting the scraps from my bin into the appropriate sizes of squares, strings and HST’s but got a bit sidetracked playing with the scraps so I’m still working on the last 3 baggies.

I did get 18 – 32 patch panels done with a few 😉 of my 2 1/2” squares just because mindless sewing is the order for the week it seems.

Now to decide what to do with these scrappy panels?

I also managed to make 3 more of my pink scrappy blocks.

12 finished now!

I also tried something I have never done before. I was inspired by Gail from Quilting Gail to do a flanged binding. I did the quilting on a hexagon Table Topper and thought the flanged binding might be the perfect finishing touch.

I just found out a dear friend has been hospitalized with Covid so I’m dropping everything and pulling fabrics for a quilt for him. He had asked me to make one for him in June but I’m thinking he needs it now. We have a mutual friend who works in the hospital and says he can sterilize the quilt once I get it made and take it to our friend.

I’m so glad you visited my blog to read my post. Thank you 😉 Carol

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.

  1. Those 32-patches could combine with another of Deanna’s quilts – Growing Up Odd. It wouldn’t be exactly the same, but if you look at it, you can see how you could do something similar. I’m sorry about your friend. I think this is the perfect time for a quilt. He will appreciate it as he recovers.

  2. Your pink scrappy blocks are very pretty and I really LOVE the Christmas hexie table topper. Sorry to hear the news about your friend. Yes, he needs a quilt NOW! Hope you’ve been sewing away on it this past week!
