I’ve been continuing on with cutting the scraps from my bin into the appropriate sizes of squares, strings and HST’s but got a bit sidetracked playing with the scraps so I’m still working on the last 3 baggies.
I did get 18 – 32 patch panels done with a few 😉 of my 2 1/2” squares just because mindless sewing is the order for the week it seems.

I also managed to make 3 more of my pink scrappy blocks.

I also tried something I have never done before. I was inspired by Gail from Quilting Gail to do a flanged binding. I did the quilting on a hexagon Table Topper and thought the flanged binding might be the perfect finishing touch.
I just found out a dear friend has been hospitalized with Covid so I’m dropping everything and pulling fabrics for a quilt for him. He had asked me to make one for him in June but I’m thinking he needs it now. We have a mutual friend who works in the hospital and says he can sterilize the quilt once I get it made and take it to our friend.
I’m so glad you visited my blog to read my post. Thank you 😉 Carol

Those 32-patches could combine with another of Deanna’s quilts – Growing Up Odd. It wouldn’t be exactly the same, but if you look at it, you can see how you could do something similar. I’m sorry about your friend. I think this is the perfect time for a quilt. He will appreciate it as he recovers.

Susan thanks for the suggestion. I’ll check Deanna’s pattern. I’m hoping he will. It will get me concentrating on a project rather than worrying.

Oh Carol. I’m sorry to hear about your friend. What a kind and thoughtful gesture to make a quilt for him, so he knows he’s being thought of and cared for.

Thanks Wendy. He is just one of the nicest men I’ve ever known so it’s so sad to hear of how poorly he is doing.

Quilts carry healing with them. Such a loving gesture.

I hope Deanna that every bit of love and positive healing thoughts I feel for him goes in to every stitch

Your pink scrappy blocks are very pretty and I really LOVE the Christmas hexie table topper. Sorry to hear the news about your friend. Yes, he needs a quilt NOW! Hope you’ve been sewing away on it this past week!

Hi Susie. Yes fabrics are washed, pressed, starched and I’ve started cutting. It is a WIP not just planned now
