This Week in Review

This was a very productive week but I didn’t quite make my goals

I did get the Mosaic Mystery quilt top finished and have been debating on whether or not to add more borders.

More borders or not?

I think I’m done with it! The decision was made by measuring it. 😉. I like the size it is, so I’m going to sandwich and layer it as is. The blue fabric will be the binding and then it will be done. I’m putting it on the list for next week.

My next goal for the week was a pattern that I’m testing. All of the units have been made and today I am assembling the blocks.

Strip piecing fun! Square in a square blocks!
Trimming is fun while listening to a webinar!

The other project I wanted to finish was quilting my Star Crossed Plaid. I have the quilting figured out (finally), but got sidetracked by a squirrel; well actually 2 of them!

Becca from Pretty Piney Quilts, the creator of the Star Crossed Plaid quilt put out a call for testers. I love her patterns so I volunteered to do another test for her!

Then I realized it was time for Carole of My Carolina Home to do her Scrap dance Mystery and this year she has named it the Twist. I tried to resist, but the colours and fabrics she was using just made my heart happy!

Scrap Dance Mystery

So My goals for the week of January 19-25 are to finish the quilt top I am pattern testing, quilt Star Crossed Plaid, pattern Test Becca’s new quilt pattern and get Mosaic Mystery ready to quilt.

I have a quilting plan finally figured out 😄

Oops! I almost forgot Kim Lapacek of Persimmon Dreams issued the new Project Quilting 11.2 Challenge today! Must keep up with this! Ideas are starting to tumble around while I am strip piecing the blocks for my test quilt!

Hope you are all spending quality time with your fabric and machines today!

Don’t forget The Winter Blues hosted by Carla of Creatin In The Sticks starts tomorrow! My day is Wednesday, January 22, 2020 so do stop in and check out my project. I’m so excited to share it with you.

Thanks for taking the time to check out this post. 😉 Carol

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.

  1. Hi Carol! I was so tempted to raise my hand for Becca . . . but have too many other projects on the docket. I can’t wait to see how you quilt Star Crossed Plaid! You definitely NEED to join Twist when it brings you joy – no one should ever avoid joy. I can’t wait to see your progress on all of these wonderful project. ~smile~ Roseanne
