Sunday Summary #246

Hello and welcome to my Sunday Summary and my To Do Tuesday post.

It was another interesting week, working, dealing with insurance company, getting internet set up at the Guild and having our Guild AGM, but I managed to sew 5 days! the weather co-operated and DH was able to get out a few days to play a couple of holes of golf. I can get housework done in 1/4 of the time when he goes out, leaving me more time to stitch 🤭

My Last To-Do Goals:

Now it’s time to see how I did with my last goals:

✅1. Finish the wedding quilt. I’ve almost finished doing the quilting on my dsm. Poor baby is getting a workout. 🤭

2. Finish my SAHRR. No progress 😢

✅3. Work on my orphan block project if I can find the rest of my orphan blocks. I’ve gathered as many of my orphans as can be found and now I’m playing with the layout when I need a break from quilting the monster. 🤭

4. Try to get my seaside quilt for Nova Scotia together to a flimsy. No progress 😢

5. Get the sashing strips on the Butterfly Quilt. No progress 😢

6. Keep playing with my UFO. No progress 😢

7. Stop Sam and her squirrel buddies from distracting me. I wasn’t able to stop Samantha. She was encouraged by a friend here needing a quilt for a fundraiser. A young family had their home broken in to and so much stolen or damaged. They didn’t have renters insurance so we are trying to get some money raised at a fundraiser next weekend to replace some necessities. With dealing with the break in here at the golf club, I can sympathize with these nice young people. 😲 I’ve finished 2 scrappy quilt tops and they have gone to longarmer to be finished.

How are you doing with your lists. Will you manage to join the linky party this week?

This Week’s goals:

I’ll be keeping my list to a minimum since the wedding quilt deadline is coming and I’ll have 2 quilts to bind this week.

1. Keep working on the wedding quilt.

2. Bind the fundraising quilts for next weekend.

3. Do NOT let Samantha and her squirrel buddies distract me from my list. 🐿️🐿️🐿️

Stitchin’ Time

Kate from Life in Pieces hosts a weekly linky party to help us keep to our goals of stitching every day!

I’m trying for at least 30 minutes a day this year and 1 hour at the end of the week to tidy up and deal with my scraps. 🤔

  • January 31/31
  • February 25/28
  • March 25/31
  • April 2/30
  • May 10/31
  • June 8/13
  • this week 5/7
  • previous total: 96/157
  • Total: 96/157
  • Percentage = 61.15 %

How are you doing with your goal to stitch for at least 15 minutes each day? Have you joined Kate’s challenge? 😁

Stash Report

I like to link with Donna @ QuiltPaintCreate to keep track of fabric in and out of my stash. Last year I didn’t manage to use as much stash fabric as I planned since I don’t get to go to the studio and play on the long arm, but I’ve been working on finishing quilts on my dsm. 🤩

  • Fabric Used: 0 yards
  • Fabric Purchased this week: 5 yards
  • Fabric Previous Balance: 62 yards
  • Fabric Purchased this year: 5 yards
  • Balance in stash to use this year: 60 yards

* my goal is to lessen my stash by 100 yards this year but realistically I’ll be happy with whatever I manage.

* any fabric used from the scrap bins, was gifted or a prize; doesn’t count as stash!

Memories of Quilts From the Past

As fire season gets closer (🤞🏻it’s late this year and we’ve had plenty of rain) I saw this photo. Phoenix Rising is still a flimsy, but I keep hoping I will manage to get it finished one day soon.

Design Wall Mondays

Judy, at Small Quilts and Doll Quilts, hosts a linky party for “Design Wall Mondays” every week.

I’m including some photos of my current WIPs;

My UFO and WIP List

I’ve made some changes to my tracker, but I’ll be linking with Ms. P. Designs and the PHD in 2026 Challenge

Need to update this again.

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.
