Sunday Summary #154

Our weather has changed. We are no longer getting snow and we have dropped down in to the deep freeze šŸ„¶. This photo was one I took last Monday. The forecast changed and by Friday we had a low temperature of -29 Celsius.

The good news I didnā€™t have to shovel any snow! šŸ˜‰

It was a busy week with both meetings for my Guild and for the Golf Club, but I was content to stay home otherwise. I even made progress on my stitching time and my projects.

My Last To-Do Goals:

1. Keep working on my EPP, embroidery and leader/ender projects. No real progress šŸ˜¢

2. Get caught up with the Rainbow Neighbourhood QAL hosted by Sandra Walker from MMM Quilts. Iā€™d love to get this one done. My fabrics, pattern and blocks are back out šŸ˜¢

3. Allow myself to keep playing on a couple of projects from the boxes of treasures I received from Denise as my leader/ender projects. I have been making progress.šŸ˜

I have a plan for these hstā€™s! šŸ˜‰

4. Start working on my projects for upcoming blog hops; One project is done and the second one is being worked on! Sorry but no sneak peeks allowed! šŸ˜

5. Start planning for one of my favourite events of the year: I havenā€™t decided on my centre block, but do have several options. I think Iā€™ve narrowed my choice down to either of two blocks. Canā€™t wait for the 15th when the fun begins. šŸ˜

6. Pull my fabric selections for Project Quilting Season 15 projects and get ready to make a quilt in a week. šŸ˜ The first challenge went live on Sunday and I managed to get my project done. Unfortunately my internet was down for 2 days and I didnā€™t get it linked up. šŸ˜¢

7. Work on/finish my pattern test. Almost finished. Blocks are pieced, top is almost assembled. Just need to quilt and bind it. šŸ˜

8. Do not let Samantha or any of her squirrel buddies side track mešŸæšŸæšŸæšŸæ. Those squirrels are really running amok in my sewing space. While I was at the Guild for a meeting someone had to share a new library book with me and next thing I knew I was playing with some linen and thread! šŸ˜³šŸ¤šŸ˜šŸ˜‰

This Weekā€™s goals:

1. Keep working on my EPP, embroidery and embroidery sampler as time allows.

2. Get caught up with the Rainbow Neighbourhood QAL hosted by Sandra Walker from MMM Quilts.

3. Keep playing on a couple of projects from the boxes of treasures I received from Denise as my leader/ender projects.

4. Keep working on my projects for an upcoming blog hop;

5. Finalize my choice of a Center Block for one of my favourite events of the year:

Hosted by the amazing Quilting Gail

6. Work on/finish my pattern test.

7. Do not let Samantha or any of her squirrel buddies side track mešŸæšŸæšŸæšŸæ

Stitchinā€™ Time

Kate from Life in Pieces hosts a weekly linky party to help us keep to our goals of stitching every day.

Iā€™m trying for at least 30 minutes a day this year and 1 hour at the end of the week to tidy up and deal with my scraps.

  • January 7/31
  • this week 7/7
  • Previous Total 0/365
  • Total: 7/7
  • Percentage = 100 %

I hope you all get to set and keep your goals for your Stitchng Time and join Kate. šŸ˜

Stash Report

I like to link with Donna @ QuiltPaintCreate to keep track of fabric in and out of my stash.

  • Fabric Used: 1 yard
  • Fabric Purchased this week: 0 yards
  • Fabric Previous Balance: 0 yards
  • Fabric Purchased this year: 0 yards
  • Balance in stash to use this year: 100 yards

* my goal is to lessen my stash by 100 yards this year. I havenā€™t managed to actually figure out how much fabric I really have in my stash, but I have reduced my stash these past few years and really only purchase fabric if I need it for a particular project. If I do purchase fabric I add it to my Balance in stash to use this year in order to continue reducing my stash. šŸ˜‰

* any fabric used from the scrap bins, was gifted or a prize; doesnā€™t count as stash!

PHD in 2023

Quilting Gail was hosting PHD in 2023 Challenge but I heard a rumour from a very reliable source that someone else will be doing it this year. šŸ˜‰

My UFO List increased over the past year so Iā€™m hoping to have quality time with my longarm to get it shortened up and earn my PHD this year. šŸ¤”

Thank you for stopping by and reading my post. Your comments make my day and I do reply to each one. šŸ˜‰ Carol

I am so proud to be hosting this linky party which has been ongoing for several years with several hostesses (several of whom I have gotten to know and consider myself priviledged to call friends).

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.
