My Weekly Recap & To Do Tuesday #130

It has been a week of crazy weather in such a huge portion of the world. We have been watching the news, seeing snow in parts of California and snow, horrendous cold, or flooding in so many other states. We did get a week of weird weather here, from this;

Bitter cold, with clear blue skies! Notice the patches of grass showing through the snow 😉

To this;

Last goals:

1. Keep working on my hand quilting, EPP projects and leader/ender projects. Some progress on several of these projects. 😃

2. When I get back to the studio next, make the time to quilt my version of A Roll of the Dice which is back on the frame.

3. Finish my second Heading North quilt, designed by Sandra of MMM Quilts. No progress.

4. Keep working on my Dresden blocks and Double Wedding Ring quilt in between my other projects. No progress on the Dresden blocks, but I have the Double Wedding Ring assembled to a flimsy but I’m trying to decide if I want to add another border to make it a bit larger. 😃

Had to lay it out on my design bed since I don’t have room for a design wall! I think it just needs to be a bit larger to fit a queen size bed! 😉

5. Work on the last of the bindings that need to be stitched. Didn’t happen since I had left the last one at the studio. 😢

6. Keep working on my project for Little Green Apples Blog Hop hosted by Carol from Just Let Me Quilt. Some progress! 😃

7. Keep working on my pink RSC Challenge blocks. I think I’m done with pink and ready for the next colour! I’m almost finished doing the hand stitching on my Gnome blocks. 😁

8. Work on my SAHRR border once the next prompt is posted. This is one of my favourite QALs of the year and I enjoy working along with Quilting Gail and all of our quilty friends prompts each week. I’m caught up!

9. Do the new Project Quilting Challenge when it is posted.

10. Do not allow Sam or any of her squirrel friends to distract me at all this week. 🐿💕🐿 Sam got me when one of my Guild members sent me home with this:

Now what am I supposed to do, but start playing with scraps when I get a gift like this? 😉

This week’s goals:

1. Keep working on my EPP, embroidery and leader/ender projects.

2. When I get back to the studio make quilting my Roll of the Dice quilt the priority and get the binding put on.

3. Finish my second Heading North quilt, designed by Sandra of MMM Quilts.

4. Keep working on my Dresden blocks and Double Wedding Ring quilt in between my other projects. 😉

5. Work on the last binding that needs to be hand stitched when I get back to the studio.

6. Keep working on my project for Little Green Apples Blog Hop hosted by Carol from Just Let Me Quilt.

7. Start planning a project for the next hop hosted by Joan from MooseStash Quilting.

8. Keep working on my RSC Challenge blocks.

9. Work on my SAHRR border once the next prompt is posted. This is one of my favourite QALs of the year and I enjoy working along with Quilting Gail and all of our quilty friends prompts each week.

10. Do the new Project Quilting Challenge when it is posted.

11. Keep playing with the scraps from Monique so I can get those bags emptied and out of my sewing corner. 😁

12. Do not allow Sam or any of her squirrel friends to distract me any more this week. 🐿💕🐿

Stitchin’ Time

Kate from Life in Pieces hosts a weekly linky party to help us keep to our goals of stitching every day.

I’m trying for at least 30 minutes a day this year, and have my week set as Sunday to.

  • January 31/31
  • February 25/25
  • this week 7/7
  • Previous Total 49/49
  • Total: 56/56
  • Percentage = 100 %

Stash Report

I like to link with Donna @ QuiltPaintCreate to keep track of fabric in and out of my stash.

  • Fabric Used: 0 yards
  • Fabric Purchased this week: 0 yards
  • Fabric Previous Balance: 100 yards
  • Balance in stash to use this year: 94 yards

* my goal is to lessen my stash by 100 yards this year. I haven’t managed to actually figure out how much fabric I really have in my stash so it just seems reasonable to keep working from stash. I have reduced my stash these past few years and really only purchase fabric if I need it for a particular project. 😉

* any fabric used from the scrap bins, was gifted or a prize; doesn’t count as stash!

Had to copy this from Quilting Gail’s blog. I still haven’t succumbed.😉

PHD in 2023

Quilting Gail is hosting her PHD in 2023 Challenge again this year.

Thank you for stopping by and reading my post. Your comments make my day and I do reply to each one. 😉 Carol

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.

  2. Lots of crazy weather in your neck of the woods, as well as here! Last night we had crazy strong winds, and north of us in Oklahoma was a rare strong tornado. Love your Gnome blocks! Your SAHRR looks fantastic. Have a wonderful week!

  3. Hi Carol! Another fourteen inches of snow?!! Holy moly. Your list makes me yawn from exhaustion but you do a fabulous job of keeping all of them moving in the right direction. Your gnomes looks so cute – I can’t wait to see them in the next color. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

  4. Those gnome blocks are really cute! Congrats on a year of finding time to stitch every day. That’s pretty impressive to be there at the end of the second month. And no new fabric, even with your Guy’s incentive payments. That’s even more impressive! Happy stitching this week.
