I’ve been having a lot of fun sewing along with the SAHRR.
See the QAL schedule below:
- January 23: 1st Round: Roseanne & Sue @ Home Sewn by Us
- January 30 : 2nd Round: Wendy @ Pieceful Thoughts of My Quilting Life
- February 6: 3rd Round: Chris @ Chrisknitssews
- February 13: 4th Round: Anja @ Anja Quilts
- February 20: 5th Round: Emily @ The Darling Dogwood
- February 27: 6th Round: Gail @ Quilting Gail
- March 13: Parade – showing all of your finished SAHRRs!
I have to say a huge thank you to Gail and the rest of the quilty crew that is keeping us motivated with my favourite QAL to start my year.

The prompt this week was from Emily at The Darling Dogwood and it was the Square in a Square or Economy Block.

The traditional method of making the blocks is to start with a Center square and attach half square triangles to all sides of the square. Roseanne from Home Sewn By Us showed us an alternate method of using 4 hsts this week. The first two photos show blocks made using the traditional method and the last two photos show the hst method. My plan was to have them finish at 3”.
With this border added on my little quilt is now 32” x 34”.

I’m looking forward to seeing how I can use the next prompt from Gail to do what I have tentatively planned with my little quilt. 😅
Thank you for stopping by. I do enjoy our visits and love getting to respond to your comments. 😃 Carol

Love your square in squares….one more round. I think I will be late this week. We are all waiting for Gail’s prompt….I’m thinking a 4 or 9 patch.

Oooh. That’s a good guess Kathleen. I’ve been stumped mostly this year. I guessed Wendy would pick stars but that’s the only one I even had a clue

Love that you used Roseanne’s HST method! I had never thought of that until I saw it on her post. I’m moving this, especially your heart center!
