My Weekly Recap & To Do Tuesday #127

It’s been a week around here with two days town trips for DH’s appointments and another change in weather with a couple of days of snow and then back to rain. The good news is that I still managed sewing time every day, but don’t have a lot that I can show yet. 😉

Last goals:

1. Keep working on my hand quilting, EPP projects and leader/ender projects. Some progress on several of these projects. I’ll get some new photos this week. 😃

2. When I get back to the studio next, make the time to quilt my version of A Roll of the Dice which is back on the frame.

3. Finish my second Heading North quilt, designed by Sandra of MMM Quilts. No progress.

4. Finish my post for I’m Kinda Sweet on You Blog Hop hosted by Joan from MooseStash Quilting. Done 😃

5. Keep working on my Dresden blocks and Double Wedding Ring quilt in between my other projects. Some progress.

6. Work on the last of the bindings that need to be stitched. Didn’t happen since I had left the last one at the studio. 😢

7. Start working on a new project for Little Green Apples Blog Hop hosted by Carol from Just Let Me Quilt. Fabrics were pulled, cut and sewing has begun. 😃

8. Keep working on my RSC Challenge blocks. The colour is pink this month so fabrics are being pulled from the scrap boxes. I have decided that my little Gnomes really do need some embroidery to highlight them so both blue and pink Gnomes are in my handwork pile to finish the embroidery before they go in to my new pouch.😃

9. Work on my SAHRR border once it is posted. This is one of my favourite QALs of the year and I enjoy working along with Quilting Gail and all of our quilty friends each week. Done!

10. Do not allow Sam or any of her squirrel friends to distract me any more this week. 🐿💕🐿 Samantha was able to distract me this week again 😉

My PQ 14.3 project; another zipper pouch showing off the 54-40 block. This one is being filled with my RSC blocks. 😉

This week’s goals:

1. Keep working on my EPP, embroidery and leader/ender projects.

2. When I get back to the studio make quilting my Roll of the Dice quilt the priority and get the binding put on. Still not able to plan a trip. Real life has some goings on.

3. Finish my second Heading North quilt, designed by Sandra of MMM Quilts.

4. Keep working on my Dresden blocks and Double Wedding Ring quilt in between my other projects. 😉

The arcs are all made now (unless I change my design again 😉) and now I can start adding them to the background fabric.

5. Work on the last binding that needs to be hand stitched when I get back to the studio.

6. Keep working on my project for Little Green Apples Blog Hop hosted by Carol from Just Let Me Quilt.

7. Keep working on my pink RSC Challenge blocks.

8. Work on my SAHRR border once the next prompt is posted. This is one of my favourite QALs of the year and I enjoy working along with Quilting Gail and all of our quilty friends prompts each week.

9. Do the new Project Quilting Challenge when it is posted.

10. Do not allow Sam or any of her squirrel friends to distract me at all this week. 🐿💕🐿

Stitchin’ Time

Kate from Life in Pieces hosts a weekly linky party to help us keep to our goals of stitching every day.

I’m trying for at least 30 minutes a day this year, and have my week set as Sunday to.

  • January 31/31
  • February 4/4
  • this week 7/7
  • Previous Total 28/28
  • Total: 35/35
  • Percentage = 100 %

To see how our blogging friends are doing check out Kate’s blog: Life in Pieces

Stash Report

I like to link with Donna @ QuiltPaintCreate to keep track of fabric in and out of my stash.

  • Fabric Used: 0 yards
  • Fabric Purchased this week: 0 yards
  • Fabric Previous Balance: 100 yards
  • Balance in stash to use this year: 94 yards

* my goal is to lessen my stash by 100 yards this year. I haven’t managed to actually figure out how much fabric I really have in my stash so it just seems reasonable to keep working from stash. I have reduced my stash these past few years and really only purchase fabric if I need it for a particular project. 😉

* any fabric used from the scrap bins, was gifted or a prize; doesn’t count as stash!

Had to copy this from Quilting Gail’s blog. I still haven’t succumbed.😉

PHD in 2023

Quilting Gail is hosting her PHD in 2023 Challenge again this year.

Thank you for stopping by and reading my post. Your comments make my day and I do reply to each one. 😉 Carol

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.

  1. Your SAHRR is looking good. I’m really enjoying that challenge, even if I am perpetually behind. Great stitching time metrics so far this year. Good luck with your to do list for this week. Happy stitching.

  2. Hi Carol! Considering the outside distractions, you accomplished a lot this week. Your Dresden project is really a pretty one, and I just adore those sweet little gnomes. Good luck this week and I look forward to seeing your round three addition in the SAHRR. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

  3. I’m not doing the SAHRR, but from looking at all the progress for those who are doing it, I am beginning to see a pattern. Spools, stars…. I like all the combinations. I also like your zipper pouch, really cute.

  4. Samantha is having her way with you isn’t she – lol! I have not had an inspiration yet for Little Green Apples, but I need to do some thinkin’ on it. Hope you are having a good week, and thanks for the linkup!

  5. Hi Carol! It has been fun stopping by and reading your To Do List. Squirrels are always getting lose in my studio and being ADHD I am easily lead astray. I admire how well focused you really are. I should join Gail with the PhD in 2023. Last year was no new starts, not so much for 2023, so maybe not. My favorite project is your SAHRR. Love that heart block. But your 14.3 project comes in a close second. Good luck this week. Thank you for hosting To Do Tuesday!

    1. Thank you so much. It’s nice to hear I’m not the only one that gets squirrel attacks. My lists help keep me focused and it is fun to be able to colour in some lines as they get finished on my PHD. The 54-40 block in the 14.3 challenge is one of my favourites. I always put it in the Sampler pattern when I’m teaching new quilters at my Guild. Hope you have a wonderful week. 😃
