Planning on Starting My New Year Right!

As this year ends, I am starting on plans for a happier, more organized and productive 2023.

My January always includes some great organizing with the help of some on line friends:

Gail helps me keep accountable and setting goals with a wonderful tracker.
Sharon and Susan from Ms P Designs USA created this great tracker.

To me the start of the year always gets my brain working with a couple of my traditional challenges to join in:

I love seeing how everyone interprets the weekly prompt which is chosen in turn by some very inspiring quilters. 😉
Gail always has a fun QAL to start the year!
Want to improve your appliqué? Gail will help that skill with this new BOM!
Project Quilting Season 14 starts January 2. 6 weekly prompts has you finishing a quilt project each week!

I also have another item to share. A good friend of mine owns a studio in Westbridge, British Columbia. She is a quilter and longarmer and is just starting to set up an on line shop. She (like a lot of us in British Columbia) lives several hours drive from any LQS so she has been purchasing her fabric by the bolt but needs to share it since her home has only so much space 😉 I’m fortunate to call Kerstin a friend and get to spend time with her at her studio when I take the long way to or from my studio. She lives 3 hours away from me, but the visits are always fun (and I just might have purchased some lovely fabrics from her shop). I did drop off a very special quilt to Kerstin to have her do the longarm quilting on it. it is a quilty hug for D so I can’t very well work on it with D right there. 😉 Divine Sew is a fun site to view.

The quilt that Kerstin is finishing is a beautiful pattern Small Change by Canuck Quilter Designs and here is a photo of my flimsy:

It’s D’s favourite colour and the pattern is so much fun to make 😉

Thank you for stopping by to share your time with me. I do appreciate it and reply to each comment! 😉 Carol

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.

  1. You are getting me excited about 2023! And the week between Christmas and new year -Twixtmas 😉 – is kind of a numb feeling for me, so plans for 2023 are welcome. Thanks for those good links, and Kerstin’s fabrics are amazing. That peony panel is calling my name. D’s quilt looks so beautiful, she will be surprised!
