ToDo Tuesday #116

I’ll be linking up with To-Do Tuesday which is being hosted by Linda from Texas Quilt Gal and making sure I go see what everyone else is planning for the upcoming week.

Last goals:

Once again I wasn’t too successful with my ToDo List and I didn’t even manage to write a blog post last week. I seemed to find myself constantly out of my home and running here and there for appointments and meetings.

1. Keep working on my hand quilting, EPP projects and leader/ender projects. Some progress.

2. When I get back to the studio, if time allows, I need to quilt my version of A Roll of the Dice which is on the frame. No studio time yet. 😢

3. Finish drafting the commission quilt pattern. Drafting done, fabrics pulled, and cutting has commenced..

4. Finish the pattern draft for my friend. Finished and delivered. 😁

5. Finish my second Heading North quilt, designed by Sandra of MMM Quilts.

The center of the quilt is finished. I still need to add the border, but Samantha has been telling me I need to add more to it! I really like this version with the blue background. 🐿😉
This version (the throw size) makes me smile when I think of the fun I’ll have quilting it with all that lovely background just calling for some fun custom work. 😁

6. Deal with some medical appointments for both my DH and myself this week. Most appointments and tests are done. 😓

7. Start pulling fabric for my next blog hop project. Project is determined and fabric pulled.

8. Do not allow Sam or any of her squirrel friends to distract me this week. 🐿💕🐿. No luck. Sam was having too much fun sidetracking me.

This week’s goals:

1. Keep working on my hand quilting, EPP projects and leader/ender projects.

2. When I get back to the studio, if time allows, I need to quilt my version of A Roll of the Dice which is on the frame.

3. Finish drafting the commission quilt pattern.

4. Finish the pattern draft for my friend.

5. Finish my second Heading North quilt, designed by Sandra of MMM Quilts.

6. Attend to more medical and other appointments with my DH and myself this week.

7. Start planning projects and pulling fabric for my next blog hop projects.

8. Finish some secret sewing projects for Christmas.

9. Do not allow Sam or any of her squirrel friends to distract me any more this week. 🐿💕🐿

Stitchin’ Time

Kate from Life in Pieces hosts a weekly linky party to help us keep to our goals of stitching every day.

I’m trying for at least 30 minutes a day this year, but also am allowing myself the guiltless days when real life was too busy, emotional or just trying. It’s been a year so far and it doesn’t seem as if life will allow me to get back to my peaceful days of fondling fabric, at least not quite yet.

  • January 31/31
  • February 28/28
  • March 26/31
  • April 6/30
  • May 13/31
  • June 25/30
  • July 28/31
  • August 24/31
  • September 17/30
  • October 11/31
  • November 10/30
  • this week 1/7
  • Previous Total 209/304
  • Total: 219/334
  • Percentage = 65.57 %.

Stash Report

I like to link with Donna @ QuiltPaintCreate to keep track of fabric in and out of my stash.

  • Fabric previous balance: 42.75 Yards
  • Fabric Used: 9 yards
  • Fabric Bought: 0 yards
  • Balance in stash to use this year: 33.75 Yards

* my goal is to lessen my stash by 100 yards this year. I haven’t managed to actually figure out how much fabric I really have in my stash so it just seems to be reasonable to set a goal to continue working from my stash.

* any fabric used from the scrap bins, was gifted or a prize; doesn’t count as stash

PHD in 2022

Quilting Gail is hosting her PHD in 2022 Challenge again this year.

I think I’ve lost track of some projects so I’ll have to check my bins to make sure I haven’t missed anything 😉

Wishing all of my American family and friends a very Happy Thanksgiving filled with fun, family, friends and great food. 🍗🥧

Thank you for stopping by and reading my post. Your comments make my day and I do reply to each one. 😉 Carol

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.

  1. Awww I understand that longing to have a peaceful time of simply fondling fabric. I hope you have that very soon. I like both your designs on Sandra’s pattern. What a beautiful scene in your header. Thank you for joining with To Do Tuesday!

    1. Thank you Linda. I was thinking of you today when I was at my Guild. We sorted 7 bins of wool that have been donated to our annual fundraiser. Such treasures; wool, alpaca, llama, silk blends, bamboo blends, etc! It was almost as good as sorting and fondling fabric donations. 😉

    1. Thank you Gail. Isn’t it fun to see both sizes side by side with some same fabrics? Just popped dinner in the oven so I’m planning on some quality time with my machine and some fabric this evening. 😉

  2. I love both your versions of Heading North, Carol! I can’t wait to see what lovely quilting is added in all that negative space – Ooooh! I wish you the best with all your appointments this week, and with your secret Christmas sewing. Wow…it’s just around the corner! Thanks so much for linking up with Monday Musings today, my friend! Have a wonderful rest of your week!

  3. I don’t know which one I like better of Heading North! I can’t wait to see how you quilt them, and I’m so thrilled to think that the one is going to be a Christmas present. I’m excited to see your modifications – I love it when quilters do that with my designs. Thanks for linking up and hopefully you’ll get some more quilts checked off if Sam behaves herself! I also did a little happy dance to read that A Roll of the Dice is on the frame… 🙂
