The timing for Becca of Pretty Piney Quilts putting out a request for pattern testers was perfect! I needed to make a quilt but seemed to be short of inspiration or ideas as to what to make!
Once I had the pattern I checked my stash for fabric but had nothing that suited.
That meant a trip to my favourite LQS. Luckily it’s in my health region and is open with reduced hours and limited customers. (The wave of Covid was hitting us hard). I waited my turn and then did some power shopping since there was still a lineup of quilters waiting to enhance their stash.

This is my final pull for the test:

Cutting commenced and with the help of my Accuquilt cutter and a strip die it was accomplished in a couple of hours.

Some strip piecing had begun:

Then a bit more cutting:

Before I knew it I had a completed quilt top pressed and ready for photos .

I loved this pattern and only have one complaint. My brown fabrics which looked so perfect in the store do not have quite enough contrast in the shades.
This top is now in the to be quilted pile and will find its way soon (I hope) to a home with my great grandson. He is 8 years old now and completely addicted to his Minecraft Game. My daughter said this quilt is perfect for Mason as the pattern made her think of Minecraft right away. Apparently our boy has outgrown his last quilt and now steals his Nanny’s quilt whenever he gets a chance. 😆. I think it was my daughter’s not so subtle way of requesting a quilt for this young man!
I could not believe that I hadn’t written about testing such a great pattern! The pattern is available in Becca’s shop here. It’s a wonderful quilt and a pattern I enjoyed making. It is likely to reappear in my upcoming list of makes or new projects.

I love that pattern! I wanted to test that one, but at the time she made the call, I had too much going on. I really like the fabrics/colors you chose!

Great job on Becca’s pattern! I think sometimes photos are deceptive with the contrast; I am sure in real life it is perfect.
