In keeping with my goal to clean out my scrap bins, I cut several stacks of 2 1/2” and 4 1/2” squares with my Accuquilt cutter and dies.
I’ve been having issues with the Covid brain fog (or perhaps too much American news on tv?) so haven’t been able to muster the concentration I need to finish the blocks I designed for my granddaughter’s quilt or figure out a pattern for my newest great granddaughter so I’ve been playing with scraps.

Simple sewing making four patches and then joining the four patches to make 8 patches, and then 16 patches .

Fun, easy, scrappy fun to keep me occupied while I try to work out a choice of patterns for a sweet new baby girl and muster the concentration needed to finish the other blocks for Delaney’s quilt.
Thank you for stopping by to read my post. 😄 Carol

Just the right thing to do while you think on another design. I found that just fussing with different things while recovering was very helpful in clearing the brain fog. And yes, I quit dwelling on the news and found other diversions and that helped too.

I’m not sure if it’s brain fog or just too much on my mind Wendy 😉

Hi Carol! This is just the perfect job to do in between your regular sewing. I love the two different sizes you are cutting although I often do a 3″ square, too. Sweet little baby – don’t you just LOVE it when they clasp their hands together like that?!! ~smile~ Roseanne

Hi Roseanne. I also do 3” and 3 1/2” squares too. I enjoy making 9” finished blocks so use the 3 1/2” often. Isn’t Grace so much like Clarke? I can almost imagine snuggling her and smelling that sweet baby smell 😁

Wean yourself from the TV. No one needs that even one hour a day. It isn’t like we control anything. You should be on Scrap Happy with us! You’d fit right in. =) Those 16-patches could be the centers of stars! I have Calico Rose with 12-patch squares and I’m working on Star Kissed with 25-patch, but if you can do the math, either could be done with 16-patch, too. Deanna at Wedding Dress Blue has those two patterns, and some others, too. Check out her tutorials tab.

Hi Susan. I’ve done a couple of Deanna’s QALs and have StarKissed almost finished. I love her scrappy patterns. Thanks for the tip about Scrap Happy. I just was reading her blog post. As for tv it is 4’ from my sewing table and DH has control of the remote. I love days when football is on 😉

Football would be a relief! LOL Gotta wean him away, then. Or wear earbuds.

Thank you. I’m having trouble picking the “just right” pattern but I’m sure Grace won’t mind if her Nana is a bit late 😉

Babies do not care about time. She wont know the difference between late or early, especially right now. (wink)
