May 24 -30 To Do List

Let’s start with last week’s list:

1. Draft pattern for the bean bag chairs. Pull fabric and get it cut. Fabric Pulled and Cut.

2. Finish quilting Trinkets. My quilting machine has died, so this will be put on hold until it goes to the doctor to see if it can be fixed. Funny noises and thread breaking, no stitches. Oh My! Cleaned it and made sure there were no threads in the feed dogs. Put in a new needle, a freshly filled bobbin and retreaded it to no avail. 😭

3. Stitching Sunshine Blog Hop project. Finalize pattern and pull fabrics. Fabrics pulled, cut and sample sewn. I am pleased with the progress.

4. Keep knitting socks. I only need to make 10 more pairs before Christmas. Another pair is on the needles.

5. Try to finish my rag rug. No progress.

Not much progress with my quilting machine being out of commission. Then I had to go out of town for a couple of days. One of my best friends wound up in hospital with a heart attack so I had to go help her husband sort things out to be ready for her release from hospital. They both are in self isolation other than being at the hospital where proper safety precautions are observed so I felt it should be okay for me to go. They are both in their 70’s so needed a wee bit of help. All is sorted out at their home. She will be released later today so I was on the road at 7:00 this morning. Home now and tidying up after being away for a few days.

So my list this week will be short again:

1. Sew the bean bag chairs once I find the bin with the zippers.

2. Finish quilting Trinkets. I’m going to try stripping my baby down again and see if she will cooperate after a few days rest!

3. Stitching Sunshine Blog Hop project. I’ll make up my final project and get it quilted and finished.

4. Keep knitting socks. Second pair is on the needles.

5. Try to finish my rag rug.

6. Get caught up on the hundreds of emails I missed the last few days while I was away.

What are you working on this week? I’m linking up with Sue and Rosanne from the Home Sewn By Us Linky party. It’s always fun to see what everyone is working on.

Thank you for stopping by. 😉 Carol

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.

  1. Hi Carol! So sorry to hear your machine is acting up. Fingers crossed that after a rest it acts more like it’s old self. Thanks for sharing on Wednesday Wait Loss. Can’t wait to see Trinkets all quilted!

  2. I’m sorry to hear about your friend’s heart attack, but good to hear that she will be able to return home soon. Nice that you could go help out too. Maybe your machine just needed a day or two for an attitude adjustment – ha! Hope it decides to work for you now.

    1. Hi Wendy. My friend is home safe and sound with walkers, a lift chair and lots of good food prepared for her hubby to heat up. It was a fast trip but I’m home and my girl decided to let me have some therapy time. She just needed a rest I guess 😉

  3. Glad your machine is working properly now. Having a medical emergency now is horrible!! No visitors in the hospital and no one allowed even in ER with you. I did that a couple of weeks ago for diverticulitis and I’m still trying to recover my energy. For a week after I got home, I didn’t even have the energy to get online on my laptop!! Love the yarn you are using for your socks. So very nice of you to help your friend and her husband out…you are the best kind of friend!

    1. Hi Susan. I’ve been concerned you haven’t been on line. I missed hearing from you. The last thing you needed was a diverticulosis attack on top of everything you’ve had to cope with. It was a fast trip to help but I think they are prepared now that she is home. Take care of you. Sending a hug 😁 Carol

  4. Hi Carol,
I hope your machine can get in to see a doctor pretty quick! It’s like going through withdraw when you don’t have a machine that you use all the time!
WOW – you are really ahead with your Sunshine quilt! Mine is still a WHIMM (Work Hidden in My Mind)!
    Happy Quilting! 🙂

PS … just saw that your machine is behaving itself! Hopefully it stays that way!

    1. Hi Gail. Yes my big machine decided to cooperate so I could do some FMQ on my quilt. I really needed that therapy today. I do have my class machine so I could have finished my Stitching Sunshine project but I really wanted to finish my quilting. Good luck finding that project. I love the WHIMM. I’ll have to remember that one! 😉 Carol

  5. Hi Carol! Oh, I just weep when I read someone’s sewing/quilting machine is out of sorts. Don’t you just wish it could tell you what’s wrong?! That was so nice of you to go help your friends. I hope she has a good recovery and that things can return to ‘normal’ for them. Good job on last week’s list. Thanks for linking up this week. ~smile~ Roseanne

    1. Thank you Roseanne. So far my baby is working well. I think she was just being temperamental and wanted a couple of days off! My friend is home and we just chatted. I left before she came home due to Covid but she is happier now.
