June OMG

As usual, I didn’t quite make my full list of goals for May. My shoulder was just too uncomfortable to manage any extended periods of time free motion quilting on my domestic machine. Add to that a slight run in between my finger and a moving bobbin shuttle! 🥵 The end result just means I will have a sort of head start on my June list of goals. 😉

First of all I do need to finish the second of 3 quilts for a fundraiser. I was informed today the tickets should be done for the raffle this week, but no pressure. Quilting is just about done on quilt 2 and binding is already made.

The second item on my list is the third fundraising quilt. I did start on the quilting and that binding is also ready to go on.

I would also like to quilt and bind a quilt that I am pattern testing. I can’t show any pictures before the publication but a sneak peek is available since I just love the way these colours work together.

In between those projects, I am pulling fabric for my next quilt project. I am trying to resist the temptation of joining a couple of QAL’s in order to do some of the quilts off my “Want To Do” List first. It’s so hard to not add more to that list! I also need to get my fabrics together to do a Curved Log Cabin with one of my best friends who is a Quilter. We are hoping that DH’s schedule for his medical treatments will allow for a few days in Kelowna at Dee’s place so we can actually do our quilts together physically.

Today was another beautiful sunny day here. I missed most of it due to teaching at my Guild. It has to be the best reason to not be outdoors anyone could ever ask for. I had one of my newer quilters needing help today with planning, measuring fabric and cutting for a raggy quilt for her newest great grandchild. Marcy was working on her Memory Quilt made from her Mom and Dad’s shirts. My newest addict finished sandwiching her blocks and cutting her sashing/joining strips to do a QAYG. We worked out some design ideas for quilting her blocks. She is hoping to have it finished before our Guild meeting next week. None of my other members made it today. Gardening season is on full bore here. Most of our Guild members have humongous gardens and do a lot of canning and freezing produce for the next winter.

So there’s my update for the weekend! Hope you all have time to play this weekend. Thanks for stopping by to read my blog! 😄 Carol

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.

  1. Hi Carol! Yes, no pressure but the tickets for the quilt raffle will be available in a few days. I’m pulling for you – you can get it done, and will. {{Hugs}} I hope your shoulder stops bothering you soon. That’s no fun at all. ~smile~ Roseanne

  2. Hi Roseanne. You are right. I will get them finished this week! As for my shoulder, I checked on Friday. The wait list was 25 months in January. It’s down to 11 months now and I am on the cancellation list if the surgeon gets an opening sooner. Hope you had an incredible weekend! 😄 Carol
