Sunday Summary #183

Hello and welcome to this week’s edition of my not so crazy life! I’ve had a lovely week with plenty of time for stitching, for long walks in our continued incredible fall weather, time to do things at home while DH managed a few holes of golf most days, and helped a friend get things organized for the Golf Club AGM.F

Or my American friends and family I can only say, my thoughts are with you all as the deadline for your election day is finally here tomorrow.

My Last To-Do Goals:

1. Keep working on my EPP, embroidery and embroidery sampler as time and my eyesight allow. No progress. 😢

2. Try to finish binding the seven now five quilts. I’ve started hand sewing the binding on another one! 😃

Some progress on this pile!! 😉

3. Finish the memory quilts for my son and granddaughters from a collection of T-shirts from my son, DIL and granddaughters and our Clarke’s clothing. No progress on these quilts yet 😢

4. Keep playing with the orphan blocks and goodies from Denise, with some additions from my stash, to use up more bits and pieces until those project boxes are empty. No progress! 😢

5. Finish making the blocks from my crumb blocks before Monique hands me another bag of Tula Pink scraps. No progress😢

6. Start assembling this quilt top. Some progress! Only 1 more rows to piece and this can be assembled to a finished flimsy!😢

7. Start on the commission quilt. Some sewing has begun! 🤣

8. Keep playing on the pattern test. Sewing has begun after getting everything cut!😅

9. Start playing on my projects for the next hop being hosted by Joan of Moosestash Quilting. I’ve had some fun progress on this one! 😁

10. Start on the project for the final Hop of the year (my all time favourite hop) which is being hosted by Carol from Just Let Me Quilt. Fabric has been pulled, and is being cut 😁

11. Get some progress on our friend Gail from Quilting Gail’s Mystery QAL’s? Just click on her name or the logo below to go seethe details if you’d like to join in! 🤩 I managed to pull fabrics, and get started! I really need to catch up!😅

12. Do not let Samantha or any of her squirrel buddies side track me🐿🐿🐿🐿. No check mark here. I was elected to the Board of Directors for the Golf Club again. 😉

This Week’s goals:

This week has me attending several meetings for both my Guild and the Golf Club, but they shouldn’t slow me down from getting my stitching time in. 🤔

Now it’s time for my new To Do Tuesday List:

1. Keep working on my EPP, embroidery and embroidery sampler as time and my eyesight allow.

2. Try to finish binding the seven five quilts. 🤔

3. Finish the memory quilts for my son, granddaughters and Clarke’s family from a collection of T-shirts from my son, DIL and granddaughters and our Clarke’s clothing.

4. Keep playing with the orphan blocks and goodies from Denise, with some additions from my stash, to use up more bits and pieces until those project boxes are empty.

5. Finish making the blocks from my crumb blocks before Monique hands me another bag of Tula Pink scraps. 😉

6. Finish assembling this quilt top:

8. Keep playing on the pattern test. 😅

7. Work on the commission quilt.

9. Keep working on my project for the next hop being hosted by Joan of Moosestash Quilting.

10. Keep working on the project for the final Hop of the year (my all time favourite hop) which is being hosted by Carol from Just Let Me Quilt

11. Get caught up with Gail from Quilting Gail’s Mystery QAL. 🤩

12. I need to decide what to do with this partially finished flimsy:

This little quilt needs to be 48” x 84” when it’s done!decisions need to be made how to add more borders! 🤔

13. Do not let Samantha or any of her squirrel buddies side track me🐿🐿🐿🐿.

Stitchin’ Time

Kate from Life in Pieces hosts a weekly linky party to help us keep to our goals of stitching every day.

I’m trying for at least 30 minutes a day this year and 1 hour at the end of the week to tidy up and deal with my scraps. I wasn’t really off to a good start, but it is getting better as things settle down in my real life time and commitments lessen. 🤔

  • January 21/31
  • February 27/29
  • March 27/31
  • April 20/30
  • May 26/31
  • June 22/30
  • July 31/31
  • August 24/31
  • September 30/30
  • October 13/19
  • this week 7/7
  • Previous Total 248/300
  • Total: 255/307
  • Percentage = 83.07 %

At this rate, I might get back up to 85 or even 90% by the end of the year! I hope you all get to set and keep your goals for your Stitching Time and join Kate. 😁

Stash Report

I like to link with Donna @ QuiltPaintCreate to keep track of fabric in and out of my stash. If I can plan a trip to the studio I expect my stash to be reduced terrifically when I start making backings for all of the quilt tops I’ve got to do. 😁

  • Fabric Used: 0 yards
  • Fabric Purchased this week: 0 yards
  • Fabric Previous Balance: 1 yards
  • Fabric Purchased this year: 0 yards
  • Balance in stash to use this year: 1 yards

* my goal is to lessen my stash by 100 yards this year. I haven’t managed to actually figure out how much fabric I really have in my stash, but I have reduced my stash these past few years and only purchase fabric if I need it for a particular project. If I do purchase fabric I add it to my Balance in stash to use this year in order to continue reducing my stash. 😉

* any fabric used from the scrap bins, was gifted or a prize; doesn’t count as stash!

Design Wall Mondays

Judy, at Small Quilts and Doll Quilts, hosts a linky party for “Design Wall Mondays” every week.

I’m including some photos of my current WIPs;

PHD in 2024

This year you can join the fun and challenge at Ms P Designs USA 😉

I’m getting closer to my PHD! 😉

Thank you for stopping by and reading my post. Your comments make my day and I do reply to each one. 😉 Carol

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.

  1. Sounds like you had a pretty chill week for a change. Your stitching time numbers are looking good for the week and for the year. As busy as you are, you’ve done well at finding time and energy to stitch. Hope this is a good week on all fronts.

    1. Thank you Marsha. These days it doesn’t seem like I’m finishing much, starting too many new projects and my fabric fun is being interfered with by real life, but I’m having fun! 🤩
