I get to start my post by recording two more UFO’s finished for the year!
I managed to get the commission quilt which had to be returned, taken apart, lengthened, sandwiched, quilted and binding done in time for a friend to take it back to Israel for her grandson. She picked it up 10 minutes after I finished the binding and was in a hurry to get home and organize her packing, so I don’t have an updated photo. She promised to send a photo once she arrives and her grandson has it on his bed.
I also finally finished the binding and burying the threads on this:
I can’t believe how long it’s been since I managed to write a To-Do post and link up with everyone. Obviously real life has been sidetracking me again. Now it’s time to see how I did with my list:
My Last To-Do Goals:
1. Keep working on my EPP, embroidery and leader/ender projects as time and my foot/ankle allow. No real progress 😢
2. Keep working on my Dresden blocks now that I have a plan. No Progress other than cutting sashing strips. 😢
3. Get caught up with the Rainbow Neighbourhood QAL hosted by Sandra Walker from MMM Quilts. I’d love to get this one done. No progress 😢
4. Allow myself to keep playing on a couple of projects from the boxes of treasures I received from Denise as my leader/ender projects. Some progress. 😁
5. Start working on my project for an upcoming blog hop; I started with a lovely, textured piece of white cotton that I’ve been saving for a special project! 😉
6. Do not let Samantha or any of her squirrel buddies side track me. I’ll keep this list minimal until I get organized and caught up.🐿🐿🐿🐿 Didn’t happen! Another blog hop has me intrigued and my favourite way to start a New Year is happening!
This Week’s goals:
1. Keep working on my EPP, embroidery and leader/ender projects as time allows.
2. Keep working on my Dresden blocks. Just need to add the sashing and decide on cornerstones, or not!
3. Get caught up with the Rainbow Neighbourhood QAL hosted by Sandra Walker from MMM Quilts.
4. Allow myself to keep playing on a couple of projects from the boxes of treasures I received from Denise as my leader/ender projects.
5. Keep working on my projects for upcoming blog hops;
6. Start planning for one of my favourite events of the year:
7. Get caught up on my year end blog posts and reading blogs.
8. Do not let Samantha or any of her squirrel buddies side track me🐿🐿🐿🐿
Stitchin’ Time
Kate from Life in Pieces hosts a weekly linky party to help us keep to our goals of stitching every day.
I’m trying for at least 30 minutes a day this year, but life had other plans for me.. If I’m lucky I might get my percentage up to 50% for the year!
- January 31/31
- February 28/28
- March 31/31
- April 23/30
- May 24/27
- June 13/24
- November 15/30
- December 12/31
- this week 3/7
- Previous Total 157/337
- Total: 171/358
- Percentage = 47.8 %
Looks like I might not actually get back up to 50% this year! 😢

Stash Report
I like to link with Donna @ QuiltPaintCreate to keep track of fabric in and out of my stash.
- Fabric Used: 8 yards
- Fabric Purchased this week: 0 yards
- Fabric Previous Balance: 22 yards
- Fabric Purchased this year: 3 yards
- Balance in stash to use this year: 14 yards
* my goal is to lessen my stash by 100 yards this year. I haven’t managed to actually figure out how much fabric I really have in my stash, but I have reduced my stash these past few years and really only purchase fabric if I need it for a particular project. If I do purchase fabric I add it to my Balance in stash to use this year in order to continue reducing my stash. 😉
* any fabric used from the scrap bins, was gifted or a prize; doesn’t count as stash!
PHD in 2023

Congrats on the 2 finishes! Your version of the Mosaic Mystery turned out beautifully, your color choices are really cool. Even if you don’t quite make 50% on the stitching time, every bit counts. Especially since your summer and fall were so busy with stuff you couldn’t have planned for. Good luck with your to do list. Fingers crossed that 2024 is a much more productive year in the sewing room.
