H2H Final Check In

It’s time for a final check in with Sarah at Confessions of a Fabric Addict to share our charity quilts. I had planned to finish quilts for Victoria’s Quilts Canada and Quilts for Survivors here in Canada, but also wound up finishing a quilt for a fundraiser auction for a good friend who was recently diagnosed with advanced cancer.

This year to date I have finished these quilt tops which will be mailed along with an extra 12” block for these amazing volunteers to make a presentation bag/pillow slip:

Quilts for Survivors is the other charity I prefer to support. They provide quilts to survivors of the Residential School System.

I also finished a quilt for the fundraiser/auction for a friend. I’m not able to share the photo of the quilt because it was a pattern test and won’t be published for several more weeks. I’m sharing a swirled quilt top photo and a photo of the backing to show off the minimal quilting on the pieced backing.

So many of my charity quilts have been made with orphan blocks, scraps, leftover bits and even some yardage which has been sent to me by a wonderful friend, Denise. I’m hoping she gets a warm feeling and knows how much I appreciate the donations when she reads my posts and recognizes some of the fabric or bits.

Sending a huge thank you to Sarah from Confessions of a Fabric Addict for organizing this challenge which motivates so many quilters to help fill some shelves (for a very little while) with quilty hugs, and reporting a total of 9 quilts being donated. It’s short of the goal of 10, but with all that’s going on in real life, I’m not complaining. Next year I will do better.

I’d also like to thank you for spending some time with me by reading my post. 😉 Carol

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.
