Here’s the proof:

I’ve been having so much fun that my cutting table is buried with a finished quilt top, more tumbler strips, four patches and two patches!
In amongst the piles are the bits to finish my next blog hop project, a pattern test which will be going to Victoria’s Quilts of Canada as my next H2H entry (can’t show it because it’s not going to be published for another month and a half), and the beginning of the next charity quilt.

This year to date I have finished these quilt tops which will be mailed along with an extra 12” block for these amazing volunteers to make a presentation bag/pillow slip:

Quilts for Survivors is the other charity I prefer to support. They provide quilts to survivors of the Residential School System. When I was in junior school I walked passed a residential school every day on my way to and from school. I often heard children crying and always wondered why I never saw kids playing in the school yard. It wasn’t until I was in my early twenties that friends started telling my why that school was so different from the schools I attended. Over the years I have become friends with several people who did survive the residential schools and heard the horror stories.

So many of my charity quilts have been made with orphan blocks, scraps, leftover bits and even some yardage which has been sent to me by a wonderful friend, Denise. I’m hoping she gets a warm feeling and knows how much I appreciate the donations when she reads my posts and recognizes some of the fabric or bits.
Sending a huge thank you to Sarah from Confessions of a Fabric Addict for organizing this challenge which motivates so many quilters to help fill some shelves (for a very little while) with quilty hugs.
I’d also like to thank you for spending some time with me by reading my post. 😉 Carol
