My Weekly Recap & To Do Tuesday #135

Another week of several trips to town for appointments, meetings and picking up prescriptions and supplies for my DH. It wasn’t possible for me to get away to the studio so not much progress on my ToDo List this week. 😢

Last goals:

1. Keep working on my hand quilting, EPP projects and leader/ender projects. Some progress on several of these projects. 😃

2. When I get back to the studio next, make the time to quilt my version of A Roll of the Dice which is back on the frame.

3. Finish my second Heading North quilt, designed by Sandra of MMM Quilts. No progress.

4. Keep working on my Dresden blocks in between my other projects. No Progress. 😢

5. Work on the last binding that needs to be hand stitched when I get back to the studio. Didn’t happen.

6. Keep working on my project for the next monthly Sew it – Show it Challenge, hosted by Joan from MooseStash Quilting. Almost finished sewing! 😁

7. Keep working on my green RSC Challenge blocks. A few more done and now it’s time to switch to a new colour! 😁

8. Start planning a project for the May Sew It – Show It Challenge “Rose Colored Glasses” being hosted by Carol from Just Let Me Quilt. The challenge was just announced and the information can be found here. I’ve been digging through my stash and pulling patterns. I just might have it figured out! 😉

9. Do not allow Sam or any of her squirrel friends to distract me this week. 🐿💕🐿

10. Pack and get blog posts written and scheduled before our trip. Our trip is cancelled. DH isn’t up to travelling now.

11. Finish putting the border on my scrappy, wonky quilt. (Forgot to put it on my list last week). Done! 😁

This week’s goals:

1. Keep working on my EPP, embroidery and leader/ender projects.

2. When I get back to the studio make quilting my Roll of the Dice quilt the priority and get the binding put on.

3. Finish my second Heading North quilt, designed by Sandra of MMM Quilts.

4. Keep working on my Dresden blocks centres. I really need to finish this one soon. 😉

5. Work on the last binding that needs to be hand stitched when I get back to the studio.

6. Finish my project and blog post for the next monthly Sew it – Show it Challenge, hosted by Joan from MooseStash Quilting.

7. Keep working on my green RSC Challenge blocks.

8. Start working on my project for the May Sew It – Show It Challenge “Rose Colored Glasses” being hosted by Carol from Just Let Me Quilt. The challenge was just announced and the information can be found here.

9. Prepare my backing for my Double Wedding Ring Quilt.

10. Do not allow Sam or any of her squirrel friends to distract me this week. 🐿💕🐿

Stitchin’ Time

Kate from Life in Pieces hosts a weekly linky party to help us keep to our goals of stitching every day.

I’m trying for at least 30 minutes a day this year, and have my week set as Sunday to.

  • January 31/31
  • February 28/28
  • March 31/31
  • April 1/1
  • this week 7/7
  • Previous Total 84/84
  • Total: 91/91
  • Percentage = 100 %

Stash Report

I like to link with Donna @ QuiltPaintCreate to keep track of fabric in and out of my stash.

  • Fabric Used: 10 yards
  • Fabric Purchased this week: 0 yards
  • Fabric Previous Balance: 78 yards
  • Balance in stash to use this year: 68 yards

* my goal is to lessen my stash by 100 yards this year. I haven’t managed to actually figure out how much fabric I really have in my stash so it just seems reasonable to keep working from stash. I have reduced my stash these past few years and really only purchase fabric if I need it for a particular project. 😉

* any fabric used from the scrap bins, was gifted or a prize; doesn’t count as stash!

Had to copy this from Quilting Gail’s blog. I still haven’t succumbed even though I won a gift certificate for the FQS from Chris @ Chris Knits for participating in the SAHRR! 😉

PHD in 2023

Quilting Gail is hosting her PHD in 2023 Challenge again this year. 😉

Thank you for stopping by and reading my post. Your comments make my day and I do reply to each one. 😉 Carol

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.

  1. I’m sorry your husband isn’t feeling well. Those trips to the doctors eat up a lot of time, at least it does for us. I love the quilt at the top of your post. Does that type strip block have a name? I hope next week is better for both of you!

    1. Hi Marti. Thank you. My DH has MS so this is expected. The quilt is made with wonky blocks. There’s no name for it but is just a random use of leftover strings and strips.

  2. I’m sorry your DH is feeling poorly, and I’m sorry about your trip, but hopefully another time can be scheduled when he can enjoy it. Your wonky quilt in your header is just GOR-geous! Take care.

  3. I’m sorry Your Guy isn’t feeling up to doing a lot of fun things at the moment, hopefully he feels a bit better each day. Congrats on your 100% with the stitching metrics. That takes dedication. Good luck with this week’s to do list. Happy Stitching.

    1. Thank you Roseanne. Can you believe no fabric purchases and I’ve even been in a few quilt shops these past couple of months when we’ve been in various cities for DH’s tests or appointments. 🤗
