In case you missed it, the SAHRR has begun. Last week everyone shared photos of their first border……spools!
See the QAL schedule below:
- January 23: 1st Round: Roseanne & Sue @ Home Sewn by Us
- January 30 : 2nd Round: Wendy @ Pieceful Thoughts of My Quilting Life
- February 6: 3rd Round: Chris @ Chrisknitssews
- February 13: 4th Round: Anja @ Anja Quilts
- February 20: 5th Round: Emily @ The Darling Dogwood
- February 27: 6th Round: Gail @ Quilting Gail
- March 13: Parade – showing all of your finished SAHRRs!

Once I added my spool border my little quilt was 9 1/2” x 12”. The prompt this week is from Wendy of Pieceful Thoughts of my Quilting Life and she gave us stars.
I spent some time making my stars. They finished at 4 1/4”. I measured up everything and cut my sashing strips and put everything together. My little quilt now measures 18” x 22”.

Thank you for stopping by. I do enjoy our visits and love getting to respond to your comments. 😃 Carol

You’ll have some nice space for fancy quilting on the borders, looking good! Happy stitching!

I love your block Carol! I started playing catch-up yesterday but got distracted (not by a squirrel!) and it is waiting for me this morning. 🙂

You were smart and used a design that didn’t call for a lot of blocks. Your SAHRR is looking great. Let me just say, lesson learned on my part.

I can see a theme developing here of love and friendship! I do love how you made one big spool around your centre hearts.

Thank you Sandra. This is such a fun challenge to keep up with. Hmm you might be right about the theme considering the direction my thoughts are going when I’m sitting at the machine sewing 😉
