To Do Tuesday #123 & My Weekly Recap

My week went well and I managed to get safely home from the studio with just a bit of weather to contend with. Since I’ve been home we have had snowy days and rainy days. It’s another weird weather winter.

As I was getting organized to come home I took the following photo. It’s a pile of projects that need binding hand stitched down. I did manage to start on getting it done. 😉

When I arrived home I had to go out to pick up DH’s meds, so I checked the mail. I was so happy to see a lovely package from Elizabeth Eastmond of OP Quilt.

A wonderful length of bias binding! It was a prize from her site when she wrote an interesting article of making continuous bias binding. Now I need to make something to use up this pretty binding 😉🐿

Last goals:

1. Keep working on my hand quilting, EPP projects and leader/ender projects. Some progress 😁

2. When I get back to the studio next, make the time to quilt my version of A Roll of the Dice which is back on the frame.

3. Finish my second Heading North quilt, designed by Sandra of MMM Quilts. No progress.

4. Finish my project for Shades of Blue being hosted by Carla of Creatin’ in the Sticks. Some progress 😉

5. Start on my project for I’m Kinda Sweet on You Blog Hop once I decide what to do. Decision made and sewing has begun! 😉

6. Keep working on my Dresden blocks and Double Wedding Ring quilt in between my other projects. I found the background fabric I was looking for so I’m making progress. 😉

7. Do not allow Sam or any of her squirrel friends to distract me any more this week. 🐿💕🐿 Project Quilting has begun so I just had to do The First One. PQ 14.1

This week’s goals:

1. Keep working on my hand quilting, EPP projects and leader/ender projects.

2. When I get back to the studio make quilting my Roll of the Dice quilt the priority and get the binding put on.

3. Finish my second Heading North quilt, designed by Sandra of MMM Quilts.

4. Finish my projects for Shades of Blue being hosted by Carla of Creatin’ in the Sticks.

5. Finish my projects for I’m Kinda Sweet on You Blog Hop hosted by Joan from MooseStash Quilting.

6. Keep working on my Dresden blocks and Double Wedding Ring quilt in between my other projects. 😉

7. Work on the bindings that need to be stitched.

8. Start planning a new project for Little Green Apples Blog Hop hosted by Carol from Just Let Me Quilt.

9. Do not allow Sam or any of her squirrel friends to distract me at all this week. 🐿💕🐿

Oh My! This is quite the list, but it’s down to being just being organized and keep making progress on my projects. I’m hoping to stick to it since I only have to go to town once this week, I only have one meeting and only 1 appointment. Otherwise, I get to stay home and sew.

Stitchin’ Time

Kate from Life in Pieces hosts a weekly linky party to help us keep to our goals of stitching every day.

I’m trying for at least 30 minutes a day this year, and have my week set as Sunday to.

  • January 7/7
  • this week 7/7
  • Previous Total 0/0
  • Total: 7/7
  • Percentage = 100 %

Woo Hoo! I’m off to a great start! 😃

Stash Report

I like to link with Donna @ QuiltPaintCreate to keep track of fabric in and out of my stash.

  • Fabric Used: 6 yards
  • Fabric Purchased this week: 0 yards
  • Fabric Previous Balance: 0 yards
  • Balance in stash to use this year: 94 yards

* my goal is to lessen my stash by 100 yards this year. I haven’t managed to actually figure out how much fabric I really have in my stash so it just seems reasonable to keep working from stash. I have reduced my stash these past few years and really only purchase fabric if I need it for a particular project. 😉

* any fabric used from the scrap bins, was gifted or a prize; doesn’t count as stash!

Had to copy this from Quilting Gail’s blog 😉

PHD in 2022

Quilting Gail is hosting her PHD in 2023 Challenge again this year.

I started the year with 36 UFOs on my list, but have one finish already for my PHD in 2023 😃

Thank you for stopping by and reading my post. Your comments make my day and I do reply to each one. 😉 Carol

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.

  1. Hi Carol! Does your friend D use the longarm when you’re not there? Just curious if she likes to use it, too. You’ve got quite an ambitious list for this week but then you always do! I’m looking forward to seeing several items get checked off your UFO when you finished those bindings. I assume they are on your PHD list? Maybe not but that would be sweet if they are! One finish already is fabulous since it’s only the second week of January. Good luck with this week’s list. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

    1. Hi Roseanne. No D doesn’t touch the longarm. She says it’s all my fun! My list just kept growing as I thought of/wrote down what needed doing. Yes those bindings are all on UFOs. With not getting my PHD and adding so many to my UFO list I should be able to get my PHD fairly soon if I can get some studio time 😉

  2. I found it! Glad it arrived. I don’t know how I missed it before — wait, yes I do. (Nevermind).
I’m quite interested in those ferry decorations, and love seeing all your snowy scenes. Your blog is a treat, and am happy to see how your catalogue your quilt data. You are making progress!
