My PHD in 2022 July Update

Gail from Quilting Gail PHD Report is hosting the PHD in 2022 again. I really enjoy keeping track of things and seeing if I can get 12 of my UFOs finished up.

I get to claim a UFO finish this month. In my world any quilt top that sits for more than a few months is a UFO! 😉

This month hasn’t been one where I had a lot of sewing time but I did have some success. luckily I was spurred on by the UFO Blog Hop hosted by Joan from MooseStash Quilting.

I finished a quilt which was commissioned for a little guy. His nursery has a cube organizer with cute green baskets. We found the perfect green fabric and a fun focal fabric with cute little animals and has the same shade of green on the alligators. This wasn’t a UFO but had to take priority on my ToDo List.

Then I was going to finish a quilt from a QAL which was hosted by Sandra Walker from MMM Quilts back in April. I had fun doing SITD to stabilize it and then because I was doing a lot of travelling and having to use two different machines. I did straight line quilting with my walking foot and echoing the gorgeous stars in the quilts. It was finished with a flanged binding.

Then I was able to start on another UFO; a fun panel quilt that has been sandwiched for months;

SITD is finished and now it’s time to play with rulers and my walking foot! 😉

So here’s my tracker updated to show my stats. It’s not been the best year but I’m still hoping to get closer to my PHD.

3 done; 9 more to go for my PHD 😉

Thank you for reading my post and thank you Gail for the great linky that helps to keep me on track.. 😉 Carol

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.

    1. Thank you Sue. Finishing those UFOs would have to be done when I get to visit my longarm at the studio (5 hours from my home). I wish I could get there to play more often 😉
