Recently I had an opportunity to do a pattern test for a designer I’ve really enjoyed getting to know by seeing some of her sweet blocks on another blogger’s site. Thanks Wendy 😉)

I printed my pattern, read it over twice and then started cutting my fabrics.
This pattern was well written and easy to follow. With our crazy winter weather and the rapidly changing barometric pressure, I have been experiencing migraines almost every day but thought that I’d just play with fabric to distract myself. I finished this block in just a couple of hours.
I was so very upset because it came out the wrong finished size. 😢. I went back to the pattern and realized that the problem was all my doing. I had turned one piece the wrong way and with my head being wonky, I hadn’t noticed.
I cut some new fabric, starched and pressed it and in two hours from start to finish redid my block.

For these patterns (and more) please go visit Sandra’s site Sandra Healy Designs. There is sure to be something there to tempt you in to starting a new project.
Your cardinal block is so pretty, and you’ll enjoy making the squirrel – so glad you are enjoying her designs!
