Today I went to grab the mail because I had been emailed that I had a parcel from Denise B. She knew that I collect quilt tops, fabric and blocks to make charity quilts.
This is the photo of the piles of goodies in the box:

I had to look at the quilt tops. They are pieced so well that it is going to be a joy to put them on the frame and finish them up. I’ll measure them before I load them on the frame and check to see if they need borders added to bring them to size for the Charities I donate to.
The photos don’t really do justice to the beautiful fabrics. Kaffee Fassett, batiks, novelty prints and who doesn’t love black &white & bright happy green 😉
I have to thank Jo Kramer from Jo’s Country Junction for adding me to her list for help with charity projects. That was how Denise found me.
My family all have quilts and don’t need any more. By being able to quilt for charity I can continue doing something I love and receiving a gift like this helps with the costs. Being on Pension doesn’t allow for a lot of extras so this gift really helped. I’m resisting the need to dig into these scraps since I do have several commitments that I need to fulfill, but there are squirrels running around my sewing table. I’m just trying not to catch one! 😉
If I can sneak away to the studio this month I will be happy to get some of these quilts finished and delivered, but I have some upcoming deadlines and a Federal Election to work for.
Perhaps this box filled with quilty goodness will motivate me to get some of my deadlines met early?
So glad you had some time to read my post. I do enjoy your comments and writing responses. 😉 Carol

Hi Wendy. I’m amazed at the generosity of Denise. It’ll be fun to quilt them and send them on to a new home. Such great quilty hugs. 😉

Those are some gorgeous quilts. I can see why you would be distracted by the shiny new fabric. I feel the same.

I wish you lived near me. I’m getting rid of lots of extra fabric and you and your charities would be great to donate to. Just can’t afford the postage. You know how that is.

Susan that is so sweet. I do understand about the postage. I have to think before I send out packages and I don’t have a medical bill to take in to account. 😉
