I’m joining a group of friends who get together via a linky party on LeeAnna’s blog Not Afraid of Color most weeks to share list of things that bring them joy, inspire them or make them laugh.
I haven’t joined the linky party the past couple of weeks. I’ve been in a blue funk again with watching the numbers rise again with the fourth wave of Covid-19 hitting most parts of the world and the wildfires, smoke a loss of property hit me hard.
I’ve been keeping busy making quilts for people who lost their homes due to the horrific fires burning in our province. I’m so happy to admit that I managed to get away to the studio where I had quality time with my longarm.
I managed to quilt 3 quilts and get the binding on 2. It meant I was able to meet up with the coordinator for the quilt distribution and was able to donate 3 quilts. I’ve made arrangements to meet with her again at the end of the month to get a few more to her.
Spending time with my machines and fabric always makes me happy, but this week I was entertained by another great audiobook. It was an interesting story, kept my attention and even had me hitting the stop button a few times to rewind a bit of the story to make sure I heard it right. 😉

I love doing pattern tests and am happy to say I have a new one to do. It should keep me busy, playing with fabric this week.

Best of all I love being able to say we had some very welcome rain. It started when I was coming home from the studio and by the time I unloaded the car it was a torrential downpour, unfortunately accompanied by lightning. Haven’t heard of any new wildfires yet. 😄
Of course my weekly list has to include some photos of my little loves. These great grands keep me smiling! ❤️
My final share for the day is little Miss Roxy:

Thank you for stopping in to read my post. I appreciate it when you click on the follow button and enjoy responding to your comments. 😉 Carol
While the news of the world is discouraging, you’ve been doing good things for people in your area, and that helps all of us feel better, I think. You finished some lovely quilts, and enjoying time with a furry quilting companion is good medicine too! The meme has me chuckling, since I have some mending waiting for me downstairs . . .

Hi Wendy. Glad I could share a chuckle with you. It has been a good week in spite of Covid (a family member just tested positive) and Afghan news.

oh carol… I know what you mean about funk. I had a hard time coming up with enough positivity to write my own, but lookie here… you are almost a years worth of I Like posts! Can you believe it? that says so much. I need to write that book title down… sweet puppy… always so sweet asleep when they aren’t biting us or tearing something up! just like kids lol

Hi LeeAnna. The book was different but I really enjoyed listening to it. Isn’t it strange to think of a year of posts? What already? 😉. Rosy is a cutie! She decided she needed to play tug of war today when she was visiting. I forgot how sharp puppy teeth are when they latch on to your arm 🥴

What a lot of wonderful loves! The puppy is adorable and the great grands, are just lovely. So much goodness; sometimes the blessings are hard to see but your Thursday post helps us all see them. We are ready for some lightening up in this world.

Thank you Kathleen. Some weeks I just haven’t found things to write about, but sewing, grands, great grands, a good book and funny meme just seem to write themselves some weeks. 😉

Hi Carol! That rain looks so nice on your windshield but not torrential rain. Love, love, LOVE the pictures of your littles! Oh so sweet. I’m sorry you have been in a funk. This is just an observation, but it seems like that is the time you need to write an I Like post. Your littles always cheer you up. We can’t control the stupidity of others, and it is sad that more lives are being lost. So many sad things going on that you need all the positivity you can get. Maybe I need to send you your own Positivity quilt!! Hmm. I kind of like that idea . . . {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

OMG that little Roxy! I think you need one of your own lol. Wow, did you ever do well at your longarm ‘retreat’. 🙂 Love the grands photos too, and yay for rain. We could use some at my ‘end’ of our country too!

Hi Sandra. Isn’t Roxanne just the cutest! We aren’t allowed a fur baby here because we live in the suite at the golf course, but we can babysit her in the winter when her Dad goes to Mexico since the clubhouse is closed. 😉. It’s been raining again since yesterday. Hope you get some soon, but not like the Maritimes.
