There are a great group of bloggers who get together via a linky party on LeeAnna’s blog Not Afraid of Color each week to share list of things that bring them joy, inspire them or make them laugh.
I love travelling to any place, but the highlight for me is getting away to the studio to play with my longarm. The trip up on Saturday was hot but bearable. I missed being able to stop to get a photo of a beautiful Cinnamon coloured Grizzly. The traffic was too heavy and I did have a ferry to catch.

Since I have been here at the studio it has been devastatingly hot. At 6:30 Monday evening it was 46 degrees Celsius. On Tuesday at 7:30 it was 50 degrees Celsius outside in the shade and 99 degrees Fahrenheit in the kitchen. Luckily the longarm is in the basement so it is about 10-15 degrees cooler and we have just been staying downstairs.
My favourite part of the day right now:

I have been getting reacquainted with my longarm. I’m hoping to get 4 (or more 😉) UFOs finished up on this trip.

Here in British Columbia we have hit 78% of our population with at least one shot in the arm. We are going in to Stage 3 of reopening on July 1st with travel being allowed within Canada and we can start meeting indoors again. It will be so much fun to be able to start meeting at our Guild again. 😁My quilters are getting so excited and are busy planning new projects. 😉
I do hope wherever you are you staying cool and hydrated and having some fun doing something you love.

HAHAHAHAHA! Carol, that meme about bobbin size is spot on! That would be one big sewing machine to be able to house that bobbin . . . just sayin’. I sure hope the heat breaks for you today. I had a foot issue once where I had to put both feet in an ice bath. I filled up the kitchen sink, sat on the counter top and plunged both feet in at once. WOWEE! That was cold – duh! – but in a little bit it felt numb and then it hurt. I am certain your water wasn’t that cold, and I’ll bet it feels quite refreshing. {{Hugs}} Good luck and have fun with your longarm. ~smile~ Roseanne

Thank you Roseanne. It’s only 35c now so your wishes are working. My foot soak does help to bring the swelling down and feels so good. 😉

I could’ve used a bobbin that size a few days ago, when I was chain piecing. I got done and none of them were sewn, thanks to no thread in my bobbin! I’m so glad things are opening up a bit for you so you can get out and enjoy things once again! Have fun with your longarm – will be fun to see the finished quilts!

Thank you Wendy. No bobbin thread is painful, but thread chicken on the longarm is, too! Fingers crossed I won’t loose this game 😎

I feel like my new Bernina’s bobbin is that size – it is a wonder. Also, since my frame is only 6ft, my long arm bobbin seems to last a pretty long time too! Love your foot soak…the perfect solution to the hot weather and ankles that are unhappy.

Kathleen that’s great that your bobbin is so great on your new Bernini. A 6 ft frame? How do you finish a queen size quilt on it?

Yes! Never ending bobbin thread would be lovely! Yay for making a dent on your UFOs. How impressive that 78% have at least a first shot. Lovely!

Thank you Sally. I’m pretty impressed with our vaccine stats too! It’s slow going with the heat, but I will have some finishes 😉
