This week I was reading blog posts and a squirrel got me. Not only was it a squirrel, it was a DrEAMI!

I have to thank Sandra from MMM Quilts for writing about the sweet Gingham Quilt she wrote about that she saw on Nancy’s blog Grace and Peace Quilting. I just had to make it (twice!)
I pulled some leftover 5” squares from my scrap saver system and quickly put together a trial quilt top. I loved it enough to layer it up and I’m just finishing the quilting today. 😉
Then I pulled some fabric from my stash and did some cutting. I needed to make a baby quilt for a wee one that arrived this week. Her Momma loves green and yellow so that’s what I needed to work with.
I managed to finish it on Friday because I had a fun backing fabric. I did some simple Stitch in the Ditch quilting with a beautiful grey Aurifil thread which Ed blended perfectly with the top.
The quilt was delivered last night to their doorstep and Momma was pleased with the “perfect fabrics”. 😉
Thanks for taking the time to read my post. 😉 Carol

Two wonderful and quick finishes! The baby quilt is great, but I really like the red one best. LOL I might be a little odd.

Absolutely fantastic two quilts! Aren’t they a blast? I have a magazine quilt looming and another for a blog hop so I CANNOT scratch the itch just yet to make another!

lol I think I’m just trying to catch up on everything that didn’t get done when I was in my funk for a couple of months. Glad you liked the quilts. It’s a great squirrel project.

Fast, fun and beautiful!!! Just a warning: this squirrel is here to stay awhile!!! There are too many fun combos one can think of or find in one’s collection!

Right? I’ve already spent way too much time pulling fabrics from my stash for the next one or 5 or 10? 😅

Hi Carol! I’ve been strong . . . I’m going to try to stay strong . . . but those gingham quilts are just the bomb. And yours are so cute!! And to think you just had these sitting in a box, waiting for their turn to shine. I’m so glad the squirrel got to you! LOVE them. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

Hi Elizabeth. They are so much fun and a great way to use up those smaller bits of leftover fabric. Just be warned; they are addicting; you can’t stop with just one 😉
