I Love Thursday #37

Thursday is the day when a group of bloggers post lists of things that make them happy on LeeAnna’s blog Not Afraid of Color. It’s always fun to head over there and see what everyone is sharing.

I had a great morning today, meeting one of my Guild members at our Guild (masks on) to clean and organize a bit. We are hoping that eventually we can get back to normal, but for now our building is available for our members to rent the building for a nominal fee for studio days with 2 people in a bubble allowed to attend.

It’s not quite this green today as the snow is just going now!

We all love our little building and the miss the camaraderie of our meeting and workshops. It’s been fun this past week during our zoom meetings to be able to tentatively start planning some future events.

Once I got home I popped a banana bread in the oven since I had some overripe bananas to use up. I love the way our little apartment holds the aroma of fresh baking until the next morning. My DH is a chocolate addict so I often add chocolate chips as well as walnuts to this favourite treat.

I love hearing that my son is on his way home to Mexico from work. It often means several lengthy chats with my granddaughter as she tells me all about the adventures they have planned for his time at home. It seems to normally include sunny beaches, water and food 😉

I love seeing how quickly the snow is going on my walks. It is so much nicer to get out and walk now that the sun is shining.

In the above photo you can just see my DH’s new treasure. As in most places in rural Canada internet service is poor at the best of times. DH found information on the new Starlink Satellite System. He ordered it and we are now beta testers. All I can say is it is wonderful and I love it. We are both on our IPads, a movie is streaming on tv and I just hung up from an internet phone call. Very few lags and so far, no dropped calls.

So that’s my list of things that are making me do a happy dance today.

Thanks for stopping by! 😄 Carol

The things children say!

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.

  1. Hi Carol! A Dad look!! Nothing like throwing your Dad under the bus, buddy. HAHAHAHA! That banana bread looks delicious. And how fabulous that you are beta testers for satellite service. That sounds like a keeper. ~smile~ Roseanne

  2. Oh that banana bread looked scrumptious to me too! Sorry to hear that only 2-at-a-time are allowed to sew together but glad to hear that at least ARE allowed to sew together. It’s always nice to have families getting together. Glad you’re able to talk and have internet!
