Pretty Piney Pattern Test

Another project begins! So much fun! Pattern is printed. Fabrics are pulled. Black and white photo edited to check values.

Flying Geese Four at a time fun!

I think I’m ready to go. Becca’s Revolution pattern is going to be fun! Flying geese aplenty.

Let the cutting and piecing begin!

This pattern is another example of how well Becca writes patterns. The directions are clear for cutting and piecing. I loved the fact that you can choose which size of quilt to make just by changing the size of the blocks. The crib size finishes at 36” x 45” and is what I made. A friend needs a baby quilt for her soon to arrive grandson. The nursery is accented with teal in a beautiful log home. The fabrics were easy for my friend to choose from my stash!

Aren’t these blocks fun?

A finished flimsy!

I had the perfect backing fabric so this was on the list to be quilted as soon as I finished quilting Becca’s other quilt I tested for her. 😄

I wanted to keep this fluffy so my quilting was mainly done in the ditch with my favourite Aurifil thread. I used the teal with swirls fabric for my binding which I machine sew to the front and then enjoy some hand stitching to attach the binding on the back.

In the above photo you can see the backing fabric which inspired the fabric choices for this quilt.

It was delivered to my friend and she did manage to get it safely delivered for her grandson before his arrival. Apparently Mom was thrilled with the pattern and the colours were perfect in the nursery.

This pattern was written by Becca at Pretty Piney Quilts. You need to check out her post and see the photos from other testers. She is also having an introductory sale price on the pattern Here. Do check it out. You really want to make this quilt.

Thank you for stopping by to read my blog. I love the comments and respond to each one. 😄 Carol

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.

  1. Hi Carol! Beautiful baby quilt and I’ll bet the Mom and baby will just love it. Becca’s pattern has kind of a Aztec vibe so your backing fabric is just perfect. Nice job! ~smile~ Roseanne
