To-Do Tuesday #32

What a week it was; snow and 2 Quilting Days at my Guild!

I did manage to get a few things done or at least progressed on my list;

1. Take pictures of the quilt top for Kris. Between snow and rain it’s not been possible 😢 but I did make more blocks to make matching pillow covers!

2. Finish sewing my test pattern for Sarah. Assembling the quilt top now!

3. Keep working on quilting on one of the quilts from my To Be Quilted pile. Some progress.

4. Keep working on 3 commission projects. Moved these along a bit on each one.

5. Keep making scrappy snappy bags for the Food Bank Christmas Hampers. 32 finished so far. Deadline has been moved up to Nov.22. Finished 43 and ran out of measuring tape strips. Now I’m making runners as well.

6. Do the other pattern test that I had missed off my list last week. Completely finished. Can’t wait to share photos of this one!

7. Avoid squirrels until I get some finishes off this list. The squirrels got me; added making some table runners to my donation pile for the Christmas Hamper Project! 😉🐿

This week I plan on:

1. Take pictures of the quilt top for Kris.

4. Keep working on 3 commission projects.

5. Keep making items for the Christmas Hampers deadline of Nov.22. 43 Bags and 3 runners done so far.

This week I have 2 days at the Guild organizing for our fundraiser next weekend. We normally have our fundraiser in the spring with the sale of donated fabric, notions, wool, roving, fleece, notions, bedding plants and a lovely tea room. We had received numerous donations of goods which had been stored and piled everywhere in our little one room schoolhouse converted to a wonderful Guild meeting space. As a Board we reviewed Covid Health and Safety Protocols and determined that we could safely give back to our community. We are not having the bedding plant sale or tea room. On November 22 we have scheduled 15 minute “shopping sprees” for our members. They can enter the building through the back door, work their way through the maze of tables set up with all the items for purchase and leave by the front door all while safely social distancing themselves. 😷 With so many of our members affected financially due to Covid we are offering everything to our members at 50% off our normal prices (eg. fabric is $.50 – $1.00 a yard, raw fleece is $3.00 a pound, washed and carded roving is $4.00 – $5.00 a pound, etc.). We hope this means our community will be able to safely stay home this winter, spinning, knitting and sewing with a well stocked stash as we head into more stringent guidelines/smaller groups as our numbers increase here in BC. At no time will there be any more than 6 people in our building and everyone will be masked and using hand sanitizer. I’ll share some pictures next week of happy, smiling eyes over masks and full shopping bags of treasured additions to the stashes.
