It was great to have a common long weekend in both Canada and America. It’s nice that we can share the same holiday!
I had a good weekend pulling fabrics for some pattern tests and upcoming projects. DH was out on the course doing some putting and chipping. He is progressing and so is my back. See I keep telling myself life can only get better. Now to figure out how to stop watching the news?!?
One of the treasures I saw on line at 6:30 this morning before the massive storm hit (that weather advisories were posted about last night).

Our power went out for a portion of this part of the Kootenays, including part of Nelson and a good portion of our valley from Winlaw to New Denver. It was out until almost 6:00 this evening. I was hoping that those nasty clouds would bring some torrential rain to help put out the wildfires, but we only got about 6 drops on the car.
I did manage to finish a flimsy this week. It is for a pattern test so I’m unable to share the finished quilt until it is published. I love this pattern and am very pleased with the finish.

Unfortunately it’s going into the To Be Quilted Pile until my machine is back from the spa. As of Friday, we are still waiting for a part. 😢
In the meantime, while the power was out, I spent my time getting organized for my day teaching at the Guild tomorrow. Masks, social distancing and a limit of 6 persons will make for a fun, small group. It will be so enjoyable to chat with people while sewing and catch up on everyone’s news from the past 6 months in person rather than via phone or emails!
I hope your weekend was fun and you all had some time doing something creative. Thanks for spending some time with me today. 😉 Carol
I’m so glad you enjoyed the weekend, and had some fun in your quilt space. Good to hear that DH is progressing well too; that definitely makes the days brighter. I like that quilt pattern, and I’m looking forward to the pattern test reveal too. Hope your machine is home soon and purring away. Our quilt group has not met since March; I sure miss them!

Oh My Wendy it was so nice to meet and see happy smiling eyes above the masks. The ladies kept me on my toes today! Lots of questions and fun! The trick is small groups and social distancing with masks. Now I need a nap 🤫
