A group of friends get together on Thursday via LeeAnna’s blog Not Afraid of Color to list the things they love or that make them happy. The links to the various blogs can be found through the link above.
My likes this week are simple.
I like having my DD here. We have been having fun sharing looking after DH, making salads, going for walks, and today we made a batch of lip balm for a company she supplies. I love the fact that our apartment still smells of beeswax so many hours later.

I love my DH’s adventure yesterday:

and today we are at his first physiotherapy appointment. I will share a picture of him walking next week when he won’t be as cranky when I try to get a picture. 😉
Our wildfires had settled down even though 350 households are on evacuation alert. I am so proud of our Forestry Service and the work they do trying to keep everyone safe. I like seeing the helicopters at work, knowing that people are staying off the river to allow the helicopters free access to the water they need.

It does seem as if they are making some headway but our skies are still too pretty at nightfall.

I really enjoy getting pictures of this sweet girl. Clarke is crawling and standing up now! Walking won’t be long. I love my granddaughter in law for keeping me current with regular photos of this sweet little girl, the youngest of my great grandchildren.

On the other hand, my youngest son is having a birthday today. It’s hard to believe my baby is now 41 and all grown up, until you stand next to him. He’s 6’8” tall 😉. He is sitting home alone in Mexico, just waiting to head back to work in Europe. His wife and kids are back in Canada for a vacation. After being in quarantine for 2 weeks they now get to get out and visit family and friends.

Thank you for stopping by. Do head over to see what everyone else has in their lives that bring them joy. 😉 Carol
So many good things in this post – nice to see you enjoying family, whether in person or through technology. Good to see your DH out and about, so his recovery must be going well! Happy Birthday to your son – 6’8″ – he is a tall guy. My hubs is 6’6″ (I’m 5’4″ on a good day – ha!)

Hi Wendy. It’s nice to have family time. It’s funny with my son. I’m 5’8” but I feel so tiny when he’s giving me a hug! 😉

Hi Carol! Oh, Clarke!!! What a little sweetie. Yes, I do want to pick her up and see the world through her eyes for a bit. Your son looks quite handsome and his son is having a blast seeing the world from being tall. Happy Thursday to you, my friend. {{Hugs}}. ~smile~ Roseanne

Thank you Roseanne. I’m fortunate to have such adorable littles and my son is such a good daddy with his 3 unique children. The youngest Fynn is a heartbreaker and often has us cracking up with laughter. Just heading out to take DH for his first physio appointment. It could be an interesting day 😉

Enjoy your loves! I had to chuckle at your DH riding a golf cart to check out the course … priorities, eh? Hope his physio goes well! And that the fires continue to decrease!

wow – that’s not a sunset photo? I can’t imagine what it must be like being near those fires. Happy family photos – I especially like the last one. 🙂

Hi Sally. I wish the sunset was just that but it is the sky south of us 😞. The photos do keep us involved when loved ones are so far away! 😉. They are handsome aren’t they 😉

Hi Carol, what a joy to have such sweet little ones in the family. Handsome runs in the family it seems. How nice to spend time with your daughter. Sorry about those fires…this year is really something especially now with fires and hurricanes!

Thankyou Jocelyn. They are all treasures, young or old, and it sure fills my heart having them all to enjoy. The fires have been an issue, but I’m in tears watching the news from America. It’s terrible this year.

Carol! Your scenery is gorgeous but the fires are so scary. I hope they are soon under control. And your great-granddaughter is so cute!

Thankyou! The fire is being corralled. Isn’t Clarke a cutie(I know I’m biased). Her eyes just mesmerize me. My grandson in the other photo with my son is pretty handsome and smart as a whip, too. I am lucky to have them in my life ❤️

Well I seem to have lost the comment; maybe the Internet froze. Try again:
Will you get to see your DIL and grandchildren? Glad to see your husband is out in the fresh air. The fires are very scary; especially the last Creek one that they said has gone all the way to the Canada border. I feel horrid for the animals that die and lose habitat. And yes, sunsets are glorious; we had a ‘sky on fire’ one over the weekend.

I doubt if I will get to see my DIL or grandkids this trip. They are in Alberta and have been visiting lots and attending church. DH is in the compromised group as am I so we really can’t risk travelling right now. The nearest fire is under control now and the smoke is not so bad. We’ve been lucky and not seen or heard of any injured wildlife Fingers crossed the winds don’t pick up again
