Squirrel Attack!

Another week of fun ideas and projects on the go.

I had finished organizing and planning my projects for the Christmas in July Then and Now being hosted by Carol at Just Let Me Quilt. Then those lovely squirrels kept running around and distracting me.

I had this project almost finished

And then I had to do a few things with these fabrics;

And of course the final squirrel attack inspired me to use these fabrics;

I had finished the last project when my machine decided it needs to go to the spa. It means this last one might not be finished before my blog post is due next week .

I thought I was done with squirrels but on Wednesday I was tidying my sewing space and cutting scraps into my scrap saver system and I had to drop everything and grab some paper and a pencil. Much doodling, drawing, calculating and too many math calculations had to happen before I could finish this last night;

I use my Accuquilt Cutter and dies to cut my leftover smaller scraps in to squares, hsts and strips that I commonly use and store them in unused pizza boxes which can be labelled easily with a marker or pencil.

My scrap saver system

I am counting it as a finish for now. It definitely fits in with the “Drop Everything and Make It” theme for Sandra’s definition for her DrEAMI #42 post over at MMM Quilts . Now I just need to stew over what I want to do for borders. I could get away with a narrow background/neutral border and then a busy print, but do have a couple of ideas churning around for pieced borders. I’m thinking the pieced borders will win and I still have so more 2” squares that I could use.

Thanks for visiting me and my squirrels. 😉 Carol

And please, do pay attention to the rising numbers of Covid 19 cases here in Canada and in America. Remember you are the best defender; stay home and stay safe but if you do need to go out, please wear your masks.

We can only hope!

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.

  1. Hi Carol! What fun teases for your upcoming post – I will definitely be back to hear all about them. And what a pretty squirrel! Definitely worth dropping everything to make it. Stay safe and happy Saturday. ~smile~ Roseanne

    1. Hi Roseanne. Thankyou for commenting about my squirrel. You’ve had another great week finishing your sweet baby quilt and getting another snowman topper started and Sue got the Salem’s Witch Panel ready to go.
