I was really pleased when Joanne Kerton who designs and blogs as The Canuck Quilter Designs emailed me to see if I could fit a pattern test in my schedule for her for the end of July. I was happy to do so.
I used my Christmas panels that I had made from leftover strings and some leftover white fabric. Obviously there is fabric from every fabric designer possible to find here in Canada.
I’m sure many of you will recognize some of these fabrics from your own projects and stash from years gone by!
The Runner and Placemats were fun to make. The pattern was very well written and easy to follow. If you are looking for a great pattern to update your dining room I would highly recommend this one.
In keeping with the pattern name, I dug around and found that I did have enough leftover fabric to back the pieces with the same fabric. The batting was leftover from quilts I had previously made. I had fun doing some straight line quilting with my favourite Aurifil threads and playing with my new ruler.
What fun and by doing this test, I get to cross another item off my 2019 UFO and Goals List. Another Christmas present done and it’s only July,
Have a great day spending some time doing something you love! Thank you for stopping in to read my post. 😉 Carol

Hi Carol! This is a fun finish and it’s nice to finally be able to share it with us, right?! I think it could even be used beyond the holidays as you have to look closely to see the candy canes, etc. I adore the look of straight-line quilting, especially on nice, crisp white fabric. Divine! ~smile~ Roseanne

Thanks Roseanne. I think this set will go to my daughter. She has the big family dinner with her kids and grandkids now. I’ve got one cut out for me in fun colours for when I’m ready to work on something more than 4 patches! 😉 Carol
