Kaleidoscope Pattern Test

At last I get to share this flimsy. I really enjoyed testing this pattern for The Quilt Pattern Magazine

It came together quickly since I could use my Accuquilt to do some of the cutting.

Isn’t this just some of the nicest piles of fabric sweetness? Just look how nicely these fabrics play together!

The blocks went together quickly since they are a bit bigger than I normally use.

I was distracted when I was finishing cutting my borders by a telephone call from my son who had just arrived home from Saudi Arabia and didn’t realize it until I started piecing the last borders that I had made an error. I had to scrounge around in the stash to find the paisley fabric which went with the colours in the quilt. I’m telling myself it was a subconscious design flaw so I could use the paisley since I do love this fabric.

This pattern was written by Barbara Gavlick Hartnett and can be found in The Quilt Pattern Magazine October edition.

I am thinking that this is among my favourites for a nice quick quilt. It finishes at 84 1/2″ x 96 1/2″.

This is now in the cue for quilting so I will update this post when I get it quilted and bound once I have recovered from surgery. I do all of my quilting on my Janome Skyline S3.

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.

  1. Hi again, Carol! Another great quilt top and I have to say I really enjoy this pattern. How nice that your son has returned safely from SA. {{Hugs}} I hope the healing is going well and that some friends have helped with the turning of the AccuQuilt handle. ~smile~ Roseanne

    1. Hi Roseanne. Isn’t this a wonderful pattern. I really enjoyed making it and am looking forward to doing the quilting. My son works a month in and a month out so I always look forward to his homeward bound phone call. Recuperation is going along. Didn’t manage to get the AccuQuilt out. DH went golfing and forgot to get it out for me before he left. 😉 Carol
