I’m Done!

Finished the last of the dump runs yesterday.  The move was completed October 31st, just on time.  I. Wasn’t sure I’d get it done but I did.  From 3500 sq t home with a 30′ X 80′ shop to  500 sq ft apartment!  My studio space is about 6′ X 3′ now!  Oh well it’s only until March.  Hopefully we will have found our next home by then!

You can just see my sewing space behind the wicker chair on the left side of the picture.  Once we get back from our trip I will manage to finish unpacking and getting set up.  This photo was early this morning before the sun came up.  I think I will get good use out of the Ottlite I won last month in Marian’s My Favorite Place Row Along!

DH was smart and stayed out of the way for most of the move.  He got to walk out the door every day and hop on his golf cart and go play.  He even managed to lose a couple of pounds wit all that excercise!

I was really happy the weather held since I was only able to pack, haul or clean for 4 or 5 hours a day.  My heart started acting up and my ankles have been swelling.  Add to that the pulled muscles in the back when DH and I were moving the antique dressing table and he dropped it and you have an idea how the move went.

Still waiting for the final paperwork from the lawyers and the insurance company.

With any luck it will be done tomorrow morning so we can head out to Alberta to watch the grandaughters for a couple of days.  Then a visit with my daughter, grandkids and great grandkids for a day or so.  I might even catch my youngest son on this trip.  He should still be home from Saudi Arabia then.  Then we are heading south.

I’m taking a machine with me (probably my Janome) to try to get some of my projects done before Christmas is here.  I can’t believe I didn’t get any quilting to speak of done this month.  At least I haven’t added to my UFO pile but then, I didn’t start anything this month except for the sweaters my son requested for his girls when he called on my birthday.  I will get pictures in a day or so when the girls try them on.

I hope your month went well and you had a chance to fondle  fabric and found a great reason to smile and laugh every day.  Until next time, Carol

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.

  1. Hi Carol! Safe travels to you. I hope all the paperwork is complete by now, and you both are on to much more fun endeavors. That was one HUGE downsizing! 2. Thanks Roseanne. At this point we are still waiting but I’ve got everything packed so we are ready to go at a moment’s notice. Road reports are checked for closures. The rain is falling here so there is bound to be snow in the passes. New adventures await, playing with fabric, reading blogs, catching up on emails and family fun times will abound I’m sure.
