Hello and welcome to my Sunday Summary and my To Do Tuesday post.
Once again I’ve not been able to sit at the computer because of real life ups and downs.
First of all I was surprised by happy mail; another treasure box from Denise:
We suffered another loss; a dear friend to cancer and we have another in hospital with a brain bleed. Add to that the drama of dealing with DH and his issues and I am feeling a bit overwhelmed and even my sense of humour isn’t helping me to cope with him some days, but finding his phone in the freezer and all of the clothing taken out of his dresser is becoming part of the adventures 😉
My Last To-Do Goals:
Now it’s time to see how I did with my last goals:
✅ 1. Keep working on the wedding quilt. Not only is it finished, it’s been delivered to the Mother of the Groom to take to the wedding. I can share that we both were crying when she saw it completed for the first time. I quilted it doing stitch in the ditch and then did an outline in all of the background portions. Once it was quilted I made a second backing, inserting a label in to the backing using a reverse Applique method, and adding a zipper to make the quilt in to a duvet cover. The bride likes flowers and colour (she’s a botanist) and the groom is both a musician and chef so the mother of the groom and I had fun picking appropriate fabrics to blend together. Then I added a binding to the quilt and finished it 10 minutes before it was being picked up. I’ll be getting some photos once it has been gifted to the happy couple in a couple of weeks! 😁
This pattern is being offered as a BOM and was designed for Island Batiks which you all know is one of my favourite fabric lines. 😁
2. If I can finish the wedding quilt, I’d like to get my SAHRR out and try to get it finished. No progress. 😢
3. Do NOT let Samantha and her squirrel buddies distract me from my list. 🐿️🐿️🐿️. I failed when I received that treasure box in the mail from Denise. I had to spend time sorting the fabric, bits and pieces and BOM to see what plans I could come up with to play with these fun new to me fabric bits, pieces and leftover blocks 🤭

2. Pull out another UFO and see if I can make any more progress on one of them.

Stash Report
I like to link with Donna @ QuiltPaintCreate to keep track of fabric in and out of my stash. Last year I didn’t manage to use as much stash fabric as I planned since I don’t get to go to the studio and play on the long arm, but I’ve been working on finishing quilts on my dsm. 🤩

* my goal is to lessen my stash by 100 yards this year but realistically I’ll be happy with whatever I manage.
* any fabric used from the scrap bins, was gifted or a prize; doesn’t count as stash!
