Sunday Summary #247

Hello and welcome to my Sunday Summary and my To Do Tuesday post. I missed last week; not quite sure, but I think I forgot to post my To Do List because I was just busy?

I have been stitching (and unstitching almost every day for the last two weeks, but really have nothing to show for it.

I’ve had a rough time with DH and his “fuzzy brain” so I’ve had to make an appointment to discuss the situation with our doctor. I’m also struggling to find a doctor to prescribe my DH’s medications. The doctor he had to manage the pain has decided to close his practise but didn’t set up another doctor to care for his patients. Since we have had to set DH up with a triple script drug, it’s hard to find anyone to prescribe it and the doctors at our family clinic refuse to as well. Some weeks, caregiving is frustrating and I will confess to getting short tempered. So far I’ve managed not to yell or throw things so I figure I’m doing okay.

My Last To-Do Goals:

Now it’s time to see how I did with my last goals:

✅ 1. Keep working on the wedding quilt. I’ve almost finished doing the quilting on my dsm, even though my machine decided to get real bad tension on my bobbin and I had to keep ripping stitching out. 😓

✅ 2. Bind the fundraising quilts for next weekend. I managed to get the last binding finished about an hour before they were being picked up. Didn’t remember to get photos. 🤭

✅ 3. Stop Sam and her squirrel buddies from distracting me.  🐿️🐿️🐿️. I get a check mark for sticking to my list and not getting distracted. 🤭

How are you doing with your lists. Will you manage to join the linky party this week?

This Week’s goals:

I’ll be keeping my list to a minimum since the wedding quilt deadline is coming and I’ll have 2 quilts to bind this week.

1. Keep working on the wedding quilt. I can’t wait to show it off after the wedding.

2. If I can finish the wedding quilt, I’d like to get my SAHRR out and try to get it finished.

3. Do NOT let Samantha and her squirrel buddies distract me from my list. 🐿️🐿️🐿️

Stitchin’ Time

Kate from Life in Pieces hosts a weekly linky party to help us keep to our goals of stitching every day!

I’m trying for at least 30 minutes a day this year and 1 hour at the end of the week to tidy up and deal with my scraps. 🤔

  • January 31/31
  • February 25/28
  • March 25/31
  • April 2/30
  • May 10/31
  • June 20/27
  • these 2 weeks 12/14
  • previous total: 96/157
  • Total: 108/171
  • Percentage = 63.16 %

How are you doing with your goal to stitch for at least 15 minutes each day? Have you joined Kate’s challenge? 😁

Stash Report

I like to link with Donna @ QuiltPaintCreate to keep track of fabric in and out of my stash. Last year I didn’t manage to use as much stash fabric as I planned since I don’t get to go to the studio and play on the long arm, but I’ve been working on finishing quilts on my dsm. 🤩

  • Fabric Used: 0 yards
  • Fabric Purchased this week: 5 yards
  • Fabric Previous Balance: 62 yards
  • Fabric Purchased this year: 5 yards
  • Balance in stash to use this year: 60 yards

* my goal is to lessen my stash by 100 yards this year but realistically I’ll be happy with whatever I manage.

* any fabric used from the scrap bins, was gifted or a prize; doesn’t count as stash!

Memories of Quilts From the Past

This was my first hand quilting project: a 48” x 48” preprinted quilt panel. 😁

Design Wall Mondays

Judy, at Small Quilts and Doll Quilts, hosts a linky party for “Design Wall Mondays” every week.

I’m including some photos of my current WIPs;

My UFO and WIP List

I’ve made some changes to my tracker, but I’ll be linking with Ms. P. Designs and the PHD in 2026 Challenge

Need to update this again.

In closing I’d like to thank you for visiting, for joining the To Do Tuesday linky party, for sharing the party link, and above all, for being part of my quilting world. 🤗 Carol

PS. Thank you if you bought me a coffee. I do appreciate your support. It really does make a difference in my world. 🤗

I’m beginning to think DH’s fuzzy brain is contagious! 🥹

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.

  1. Sometimes, being a care-giver can be really really frustrating. It’s doubly hard when pain is not. controlled and the brain is ‘fuzzy!’ Hopefully, you can get some decent medical care (ie a doc that will write a triple script med!) and also some assistance.

    Take care of yourself!

    1. Thanks Gail. Most days it’s all manageable but then a bump in the road (like an extremely negligent, unprofessional doctor quitting after 3 years of forgetting to send in scripts and going on vacation quits). In some ways it’s a relief to not have to deal with him, or rather it will be when I can get a replacement.
Other than that I can usually manage now that I have fabric therapy time back. 🤭

  2. Dealing with pain medication and doctors is no fun. My mother has had lots of issues on that front the last year. In spite of all the frustration you’ve gotten in some good sewing time. Hope this week is as good.

  3. I’m sorry your husband is having issues and you are having to struggle with working the system to get him the care he needs. Caregiving is a frustrating, thankless job. BTDT, but when it was over I could live with it knowing I did the best I could. Take care of yourself. Good choice to keep the list short so that quilting is a happy place.
