Sunday Summary #241

Hello and welcome to my Sunday Summary where I share snippets of my life, set my stitching goals, and you get to see any progress I’ve made on my last To Do list.

My Last To-Do Goals:

It was an interesting week with a couple of meetings, more sorting days at the Guild and two whole days of quilting at the Guild.

Now it’s time to see how I did with my goals for the week:

So now it’s time to see what goals I have on my list this week:

1. Get caught up with my SAHRR. I’ve made some progress but I’m still not caught up 😢

✅2. Plan a project for the last Project Quilting Change for the year. I did finish my project but missed the deadline to link up 😢

3. Back to playing with the quilt to Nova Scotia. No progress 😢

4. Back to work on the Butterflies and Owls quilt since I now have a home for it to go to. No progress 😢

✅ 5. I received a lovely package of orphan blocks from Deborah. I’ve been gathering trying to find all of my orphan blocks to see if my plan will work, but I’m getting surprised with the number of blocks I have 🤭

6. When I receive my new ruler rack I will clean off my cutting table again and give my cutting mat a good service. My parcel hasn’t arrived yet so no progress on this one. 😢

7. Do not allow my squirrel, Samantha and her friends to sidetrack me from my list projects! 🐿️🐿️🐿️🐿️. Complete failure here. When searching for my orphan blocks for #5, I discovered a UFO that I’d forgotten about so I started playing with it. 😢

This Week’s goals:

1. Finish my SAHRR.

2. Work on my orphan block project if I can find the rest of my orphan blocks.

3. Try to get my seaside quilt for Nova Scotia together to a flimsy.

4. Get the sashing strips on the Butterfly Quilt.

5. Keep playing with my UFO.

6. If my parcel comes, get my cutting table set up and my cutting mat serviced.

7. Stop Sam and her squirrel buddies from distracting me. 🐿️🐿️🐿️🐿️

Stitchin’ Time

Kate from Life in Pieces hosts a weekly linky party to help us keep to our goals of stitching every day!

I’m trying for at least 30 minutes a day this year and 1 hour at the end of the week to tidy up and deal with my scraps. 🤔

  • January 31/31
  • February 25/28
  • March 21/21
  • this week 7/7
  • previous total: 70/73
  • Total: 77/80
  • Percentage = 96.25%

How are you doing with your goal to stitch for at least 15 minutes each day? Have you joined Kate’s challenge? 😁

Stash Report

I like to link with Donna @ QuiltPaintCreate to keep track of fabric in and out of my stash. Last year I didn’t manage to use as much stash fabric as I planned since I don’t get to go to the studio and play on the long arm, but I’ve been working on finishing quilts on my dsm. 🤩

  • Fabric Used: 0 yards
  • Fabric Purchased this week: 0 yards
  • Fabric Previous Balance: 62 yards
  • Fabric Purchased this year: 0 yards
  • Balance in stash to use this year: 55 yards

* my goal is to lessen my stash by 100 yards this year but realistically I’ll be happy with whatever I manage.

* any fabric used from the scrap bins, was gifted or a prize; doesn’t count as stash!

Still nothing, but I have been sorting, measuring and pricing donated fabrics for our Guild fundraiser and know I’m going to be tempted to spend some money that day.

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.

  1. Ooh, that vintage machine is a beaut! Bet it stitched like a dream. Samantha (or one of her cousins) visited me too a lot this past week — I even came up with an idea for something for PQ 17.6 but never got around to working on it because of strategizing about a bunch of other new things. It’s so hard not to want to dive into those DREAMI projects!

    1. Hi Vivian. Thank you for your comment. That machine just dung wonderfully. She got it for $5 at a thrift store and per partner made the sweetest extension table. I started my PQ 17.6 project but real life got in the way with some drama at the golf club so I didn’t get it finished in time. Sam has you on her radar does she? She gets around that silly squirrel and your comment made me giggle. I’m trying hard to not start anything new. My orphan block project and rediscovered UFO don’t count as new, do they? 😉
