To Do Tuesday Linky Party #160

Hello and welcome to the first party of February. I’m not sure how weird your weather is, but it’s beginning to look like we will have golfers on the course here in the next week or so (only 2 months early 😲). I’ve been seeing crazy cold temperatures and heavy snow fall in places where it shouldn’t be happening.

As much as I try not to watch the news, I can only say my heart is bleeding seeing the events unfolding in Minneapolis, Iran, Gaza and the Ukraine.

But on to happier topics because what do quilters do when you under stress? They turn to fabric for solace.

Here’s the incredible entries from last week:

Aren’t you just amazed by everyone’s creativity? I am 😲

Now it’s time for this week’s party to get started.

  • This linky party is for any project – It can be in-progress or a finished piece.
  • You can link up your blog post (not your homepage please) or Instagram photo from the past week that features one of your projects.
  • If you are linking to a blog post, I ask that you link back to my blog somewhere in your post. There will be a linky party available every week!
  • This is a party so remember to socialize and comment on the posts of others.
  • Following or commenting on my blog is not necessary but it sure would be great if you do!

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.

  1. I decided to put myself on a news diet for this week. Sometimes you just need to take a break from all the sad things going on. I think we all need a bit of happy stitching this week.

    1. That sounds like a good idea Kate. I’ve tried to be on a news diet after DH watched 12-14 hours of news during T’s first run. My wall hanging by my machine says “Quilt More; Worry Less”. I’m think we all need to follow it. 🤗

  2. It can be hard not to want to tune out the bad news (thank goodness for quilting!!!!) but I am also looking for the good news and the hope that’s out there. Often for every incredibly sad story there is another one that makes me believe there is still a chance for the “better angels” to appear and prevail. If we only despair, “they” win.

    1. So true Vivian. I just read a story about the businesses in Minneapolis opening there doors for protesters to have warming spots with coffee, food, jackets and blankets available. People are holding each other up so they don’t slip on the ice. It brought me to tears but is proof there still are angels among us. One of my favourite linky parties is I Like Thursdays on Not Afraid of Color. It always is a source of happy things;

  3. I’m with you on the news. I turn the news on about once a week….then spend the rest of the week thinking about what I saw and not wanting to know what I am missing by not watching daily. The entire world needs our prayers.
