Hello and welcome to my Sunday Summary where I share snippets of my life, set my stitching goals, and you get to see any progress I’ve made on last week’s list.
This week was not as intense as last week. 2 meetings, one appointment for DH, and an appointment with pest control people.
I can also say there have been fewer mice. They did manage to find DH’s chocolate bar, you know the $20.00 kind with natural pain remedies (CBD) in it. We try to keep some on hand as a decent alternative for pain relief to the opioids. 😭
But I’ve had oodles of time to sew, even if I can’t show off many photos. 🤩
My Last To-Do Goals:
Now it’s time to see how I did with my goals for the week:

✅1. Finish this round of the SAHRR and get my post up. Not only did I get it finished, (the prompt was qst’s), but I even managed to get my link up on Brenda’s post and you can read about it here

✅2. Pull the fabrics and start cutting for the commission quilt. Fabrics are pulled and piecing has begun. This one will be surprise for both my client and her son and daughter in law so I won’t be sharing any photos. 😃
✅3. Pull fabrics and start on the pattern test. I’ve pulled fabrics, did some cutting and have made a good start on the blocks. This is going to be a mix of piecing and fpp. I just need to decide tomorrow if I’ll do traditional fpp or get out my freezer paper. 😃

4. Work on the Nova Scotia blocks to get them to uniform sizes. No progress on this one, but C is away on vacation until the end of February so the pressure is off 😰

5. Work on the Butterfly and Owl blocks to get the flimsy done. No progress 😭
6. If I can quilt a few more memory quilt blocks. No progress 😭
✅7. Do not let Samantha add anything else to my list; stay on track this week; no being sidetracked. I get a checkmark here. No sidetracking went on this way.
This Week’s goals:
It’s going to be an interesting week since I’ve got to meet the electrician at the Guild. We are very excited to be doing some renovations to our kitchen area. I’ve got 4 golf club meetings and DH and I both have bloodwork to be done.
There should be plenty of time to sew this week so I’m pleased with that.
So it’s time to see what goals I have on my shortened list this week:

1. Finish this week’s prompt for the SAHRR. Kathleen McMusing provided the round 2 prompt, “Make it a Double”. Here’s where I’m at so far:

2. Keep making progress with the pattern test.
3. Make more progress on the Commission quilt.
4. Can I come up with an idea for Project Quilting 17.3 which was announced today?

5. For a break from these intense projects, I’ll try to get some progress on the memory quilts, the quilt for Nova Scotia or the Butterflies and Owls projects.
6. Try to maintain some control with Samantha, my inner squirrel, and not allow her to sidetrack me to start anything new until I get some of these finished. 🐿️🐿️🐿️
Stitchin’ Time

Kate from Life in Pieceshosts a weekly linky party to help us keep to our goals of stitching every day!
I’m trying for at least 30 minutes a day this year and 1 hour at the end of the week to tidy up and deal with my scraps. 🤔
- January 31/31
- this week 7/7
- previous total: 24/24
- Total: 31/31
- Percentage = 100 %
This could either be the start of a good year, or a unique month with a score of 100% 🤣
How are you doing with your goal to stitch for at least 15 minutes each day? Have you joined Kate’s challenge? 😁

Stash Report

I like to link with Donna @ QuiltPaintCreate to keep track of fabric in and out of my stash. Last year I didn’t manage to use as much stash fabric as I planned since I don’t get to go to the studio and play on the long arm, but I’ve been working on finishing quilts on my dsm. 🤩
- Fabric Used: 0 yards
- Fabric Purchased this week: 0 yards
- Fabric Previous Balance: 0 yards
- Fabric Purchased this year: 0 yards
- Balance in stash to use this year: 100 yards
* my goal is to lessen my stash by 100 yards this year but realistically I’ll be happy with whatever I manage.
* any fabric used from the scrap bins, was gifted or a prize; doesn’t count as stash!
