Hello and welcome to my To Do List and see any progress I’ve made (or can share at least) on last week’s list. 😉
My friends, I have to say this past week was full of crazy (mis) adventures, strange happenings and the loss of another dear friend.
It started on Monday when I was in the clubhouse, looking for something we needed for our Board meeting that evening. I was bent over looking at a low shelf and passed out cold; waking up on the floor. Nothing broke and I only had some bruising on my arm. Tuesday I grabbed an oven mitt off the top of the microwave and stuck my hand in; only to let out a shriek and throw it across the room. Scared DH half to death and he looked where I was pointing, just to see a mouse scurry out of the oven mitt! Wednesday at 3:07 am my DH’s father in law passed away, in bed next to his wife. He had lost his battle, the chemo was no longer helping and he had set his appointment for his MAiD for Thursday at 5:00. Instead of having his farewell party on Thursday at 3:30 his wife and the family hosted a wake so everyone could be together to share stories. Friday I had a scheduled doctor’s appointment so I was able to discuss my passing out on Monday. Guess it’s my turn to be seeing doctors and having tests. It appears that my leaking heart valve is acting up for the first time since just after my ex husband left me to move in with his girlfriend! Time and a bunch of tests will decide if that’s the case or we need to check other possibilities.
Can you believe with all of that I had either stitching time, or time to sort fabric or start designing another project every day? I was surprised when I realized that and checked my notes and calendar. 🤭
My Last To-Do Goals:
Now it’s time to see how I did with my goals for the week:

1. Continue with my plan for making my quilt top from my crumb blocks and leftover panel blocks. No progress 😢

2. Continue working on the blocks for the quilt for C’s friend in Nova Scotia. Some more piecing done on these blocks. 😁 ✅

3. Finish more blocks for the memory quilts. Got quite a bit done on these. I have enough blocks finished for one of the memory quilts and have all of the other blocks sorted with the border fabrics to get the blocks to a uniform size. 😁 ✅

4. Work on binding the stack of quilts. Almost finished one more and the extra quilting I needed to do on the one quilt should only take me an hour to do. 😁 ✅

5. If I finish more of the above projects I will start another of the projects from my project bins. No new project started from the bins.

6. Determine what I will do with the rest of these lovely hrt’s. These will be used in an upcoming project. Plan is finalized. 😁 ✅

7. I’m excited to start my version of the SAHRR. I sort of made my choice. You can read about it here

8. Did you see Melva is doing another QAL? We’ve all seen the blocks she made. It’s going to be a fun one and I just might have to join in. I’m waiting to see when this starts 😉

9. Keep Samantha and her squirrel buddies from distracting me again or sidetracking me from my list. 🐿️🐿️🐿️🐿️🐿️. Complete failure on this one! I met with a friend and am now designing a quilt to make for her son’s wedding. 🤭
This Week’s goals:

1. Continue with my plan for making my quilt top from my crumb blocks and leftover panel blocks.

2. Continue working on the blocks for the quilt for C’s friend in Nova Scotia now that I have a size sorted for the blocks. I had various sized blocks and needed to determine a layout and how to increase the size of some of the blocks.

3. Finish more blocks for the memory quilts.
4. Work on binding the stack of quilts.
5. Start on the first prompt on my version of the SAHRR when it comes out.
6. Finalize my design for the wedding quilt, get the approval and choose the fabrics.
7. If I can manage the time, do a project for Project Quilting 17.2

Stitchin’ Time

Kate from Life in Pieceshosts a weekly linky party to help us keep to our goals of stitching every day!
I’m trying for at least 30 minutes a day this year and 1 hour at the end of the week to tidy up and deal with my scraps. 🤔
- January 17/31
- this week 7/7
- Previous Total: 10/10
- Total: 17/17
- Percentage = 100 %
How are you doing with your goal to stitch for at least 15 minutes each day? Have you joined Kate’s challenge? 😁

Stash Report

I like to link with Donna @ QuiltPaintCreate to keep track of fabric in and out of my stash. Last year I didn’t manage to use as much stash fabric as I planned since I don’t get to go to the studio and play on the long arm, but I’ve been working on finishing quilts on my dsm. 🤩
- Fabric Used: 0 yards
- Fabric Purchased this week: 0 yards
- Fabric Previous Balance: 0 yards
- Fabric Purchased this year: 0 yards
- Balance in stash to use this year: 100 yards
* my goal is to lessen my stash by 100 yards this year but realistically I’ll be happy with whatever I manage. I’ve been using mostly scraps, leftover bits and donated treasures and not a lot of yardage from my stash.😉
* any fabric used from the scrap bins, was gifted or a prize; doesn’t count as stash!

You take care of yourself, passing out is very scary and so are leaky heart valves. Very sorry for your family’s loss. Looks like you’ve poured yourself into your project bins and made some good progress. Take care this week.

Sorry to hear about DH’s father. Good you could all be together for his wake. The mouse in the oven mitt – eek! I’d have done the same as you!
