A couple of years ago, I found the cutest flannel panel to make a baby quilt which are always in need.

Last year on one of my few trips in to my favourite LQS I found the same fabric on the clearance rack. I bought what was left. It turned out there were 3 1/2 panels.
Iād enjoyed working with the flannel and knew Iād have to gift a baby quilt to one of the volunteers at the golf club when he and his sweet wife have their first child due at the end of January.
It didnāt take me long to play with the panel and some flannel left from other projects. In no time I had another finished flimsy, but knew Iād not get to the studio any time soon to put it on the long arm so it sat for a couple of months.
Then this past week I realized the due date was coming so I had to get things in gear. I sandwiched the quilt and after pinning it, thought Iād do some basting to stabilize it. After I did the stitching I was able to take the pins out and draw a feather design I like using. The panto is at the studio, so drew it from memory with my Hera marker.
It took me a few days to do the quilting on my sewing machine. I had forgotten how to drop the feed dogs and couldnāt find my manual too easily.
Last week I squared it up, made a label and the binding. This week I machine stitched on the binding and then spent a couple of evenings hand sewing the binding.

I put the last stitch in the binding last night, so I have the first finish of 2026, and the first finished UFO of the year as well.

Thank you for reading my post. If you leave me a comment I will really enjoy reading it and will reply to each one. Enjoy your day!
