Sunday Summary #222

I hope you’ve all had a good week and been making progress on your To Do Tuesday lists. Mine was a decent week and I did make a bit of progress on a couple of my projects.

As you can see from my photo this morning, we finally have the first dusting of snow on my mountain ridges. It’s getting closer now. 😁

My Last To-Do Goals:

This was a busy week in real life as we are preparing all of the reports for the Annual General Meeting for the Golf Club. I have my second year to complete next year as Secretary of the Board of Directors and am getting curious to see how many of our 5 vacant positions we will have filled at the meeting next week. I’ve also written two Grant Applications so it was a busy week with paperwork which seriously cut in to my stitching time.

Now it’s time to see how I did with my goals for the week:

1. Keep making some bags for the Christmas Hamper/Dinner event in December from everything I have kitted up. No progress and now I have a firm deadline to get these done. It’s a priority now 😢

2. Get the needlepoint stitched so I can decide how to finish it. Almost finished this one! Made progress. Just doing the final few stitches.

So close to a finish; the last few white stitches and then the accent stitches to be done. 😁

3. Finish making my quilt top from my crumb blocks and leftover panel blocks. Changed my mind again on the finish for this one so I’m looking for different fabrics after unstitching the sashing I’ve done. 😢

4. Keep working to empty my project bins. No new WIPs started 😉

5. Keep making some progress on the memory quilts from all of my family’s t-shirts or clothing on the never ending stack of blocks No progress on this one. 😢

6. Finish the blocks for the quilt for C’s friend in Nova Scotia. Been working on the extra blocks for the layout

7. Get the quilt top finished using stash fabrics first sashing along with the blocks I’ve made from Denise’s donated bits from the Treasure boxes she sent of goodies changed my mind on the sashing strips on this one, too

8. Keep working on my project for my favourite Hop of the year. Made some progress. I’m liking this one. 😁✅

Carol from Just Let Me Quilt is stepping up to host this one

9. Keep Samantha and her squirrel buddies from distracting me or coercing me to start anything else new 🐿️🐿️🐿️. Success! Nothing new started but I have some ideas bubbling around and there are so many QAL’s I’d love to join 🥹✅

This Week’s goals:

  1. Keep making some bags for the Christmas Hamper/Dinner event in December from everything I have kitted up.
  2. Get the needlepoint stitched so I can decide how to finish it.
  3. Finish the quilt top using the leftover bits of blocks I have from Denise’s Treasure boxes she sent of goodies; leftovers and fabric pieces.
  4. Finish making my quilt top from my crumb blocks and leftover panel blocks.
  5. Finish the blocks for the quilt for C’s friend in Nova Scotia.
  6. Keep working on my project for the Christmas Cookie Exchange Blog Hop in December.
  7. Finish more blocks for the memory quilts
  8. If I finish any of the above projects I will start another of the projects from my project bins.
  9. Keep Samantha and her squirrel buddies from distracting me again or sidetracking me from my list. 🐿️🐿️🐿️

Stitchin’ Time

Kate from Life in Pieces hosts a weekly linky party to help us keep to our goals of stitching every day!

I’m trying for at least 30 minutes a day this year and 1 hour at the end of the week to tidy up and deal with my scraps. 🤔

  • January 4/31
  • February 2/28
  • March 10/31
  • April 12/30
  • May 29/31
  • June 28/30
  • July 31/31
  • August 30/30
  • September 26/30
  • October 25/31
  • this week 7/7
  • Previous Total: 193/292
  • Total: 200/299
  • Percentage = 66.89 %

I was able to get my stitching time in again this week. I hope you all get to set and keep your goals for your Stitching Time and join Kate. 😁

Stash Report

I like to link with Donna @ QuiltPaintCreate to keep track of fabric in and out of my stash. If I can plan trips to the studio I expect my stash to be reduced terrifically when I start making backings for all of the quilt tops I’ve got to do. 🤩

  • Fabric Used: 0 yards
  • Fabric Purchased this week: 0 yards
  • Fabric Previous Balance: 15 yards
  • Fabric Purchased this year: 9 yards
  • Balance in stash to use this year: 90 yards

* my goal is to lessen my stash by 200 50 yards this year but realistically I’ll be happy with whatever I manage. I’m lessening my goal since I’ve been using mostly scraps, leftover bits and donated treasures and since I’ll not be getting to use my longarm my backing fabric usage will be minimal.😉

* any fabric used from the scrap bins, was gifted or a prize; doesn’t count as stash!

Memories of Quilts From the Past

A table topper made with a machine embroidered panel. It suits my mood these days because I am so ready for the snow to fall.

Design Wall Mondays

Judy, at Small Quilts and Doll Quilts, hosts a linky party for “Design Wall Mondays” every week.

I’m including some photos of my current WIPs;

My UFO and WIP List

Last but not least I have to update my UFO Speadsheet and then try keeping it up to date and so help with my accountability now that I have gone through everything in my storage room and sewing space. I think I’ve given up on getting this updated. I might just wait and start fresh next year. 🫤.

I use the spreadsheet that Quilting Gail shared several years ago, but I do need to update it!

This week I’ll even manage to link up with our To-Do Tuesday and the other parties I enjoy.

In closing I’d like to thank you for visiting, for joining the To Do Tuesday linky party, for sharing the party link, and above all for being part of my quilting world. 🤗 Carol

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.
