Sunday Summary #217

I hope you’ve all had as much fun as I’ve had this week. I had the perfect mix of volunteer time at the golf club and two blissful days at the Guild with my quilting group. I even managed to only go to town once for my DH’s prescriptions and groceries.

My Last To-Do Goals:

1. Keep making some bags for the Christmas Hamper/Dinner event in December from everything I have kitted up.  No progress 😢

2. Keep hand stitching in the evening doing my EPP and the needlepoint kit. I’m on the last colour of floss 😁

3. Finish making my quilt top from my crumb blocks and leftover panel blocks. Started putting the sashing/lattice strips on the blocks. 😁

4. Keep working to empty my project bins. I didn’t start any new projects from the bins this week. 😉

5. Keep making some progress on the memory quilts from all of my family’s t-shirts or clothing. Made a bit more progress 😁

6. Finish the blocks for the quilt for C’s friend in Nova Scotia which will also use up some of the bits from my stack of project bins when I find the fabrics in my storage room bins. I didn’t have time to go through the last 2 bins, but I’m so sure that’s where the fabric I need is. 😉

7. Keep playing with the blocks I’ve made from Denise’s donated bits in one of her many Treasure boxes she sent of goodies now that I’ve changed my plan. I have 2 projects on the go with these blocks and I’ve made some progress! 😁

8. Keep Samantha and her buddies from distracting me or coercing me to start anything else new. I failed! Sam reminded me of a project I was asked to do for one of my Guildmates and there just happened to be a call-out for participants in 2 of my favourite Hops so the squirrels were running rampant this week! 😉🐿️🐿️🐿️🐿️🐿️🐿️🐿️🐿️🐿️

This Week’s goals:

Now it’s time to set my goals for the week.

2. Keep hand stitching in the evening doing my EPP and the needlepoint kit.

Oops! Forgot to take a new photo! 😉

3. Finish making my quilt top from my crumb blocks and leftover panel blocks.

4. Keep working to empty my project bins.

5. Keep making some progress on the memory quilts from all of my family’s t-shirts or clothing.

6. Finish the blocks for the quilt for C’s friend in Nova Scotia which will also use up some of the bits from my stack of project bins when I find the fabrics in my storage room bins.

7. Keep playing with the blocks I’ve made from Denise’s donated bits in one of her many Treasure boxes she sent of goodies now that I’ve changed my plan and have 2 separate projects planned 😉

8. Start planning my project for an upcoming hop:

Joan from Moosestash Quilting is hosting the Hallowe’en Spooktacular! 👻🎃👺

9. Start planning a project for my favourite Hop of the year:

Carol from Just Let Me Quilt is stepping up to host this one 🤩

10. Keep Samantha and her squirrel buddies from distracting me or coercing me to start anything else new 🐿️🐿️🐿️🐿️

Stitchin’ Time

Kate from Life in Pieces hosts a weekly linky party to help us keep to our goals of stitching every day. I just love her new logo!

I’m trying for at least 30 minutes a day this year and 1 hour at the end of the week to tidy up and deal with my scraps. 🤔

  • January 4/31
  • February 2/28
  • March 10/31
  • April 12/30
  • May 29/31
  • June 28/30
  • July 31/31
  • August 30/30
  • September 18/20
  • this week 7/7
  • Previous Total: 160/256
  • Total: 167/263
  • Percentage = 63.49 %

Another good week getting my stitching time in! I hope you all get to set and keep your goals for your Stitching Time and join Kate. 😁

Stash Report

I like to link with Donna @ QuiltPaintCreate to keep track of fabric in and out of my stash. If I can plan trips to the studio I expect my stash to be reduced terrifically when I start making backings for all of the quilt tops I’ve got to do. 🤩

  • Fabric Used: 0 yards
  • Fabric Purchased this week: 0 yards
  • Fabric Previous Balance: 15 yards
  • Fabric Purchased this year: 9 yards
  • Balance in stash to use this year: 90 yards

* my goal is to lessen my stash by 200 100 yards (I’ve adjusted my goal since it is almost September and I can no longer visit the studio) this year but realistically I’ll be happy with whatever I manage. 😉

* any fabric used from the scrap bins, was gifted or a prize; doesn’t count as stash!

Memories of Quilts From the Past

With the cooler weather we are still having issues with smoke from the wildfires and it reminded me of Phoenix Rising which was pieced when the helicopters were picking buckets of water from the river just behind those trees and we were on evacuation alert.

Design Wall Mondays

Judy, at Small Quilts and Doll Quilts, hosts a linky party for “Design Wall Mondays” every week.

I’m including some photos of my current WIPs;

My UFO and WIP List

Last but not least I have to update my UFO Speadsheet and then try keeping it up to date and so help with my accountability now that I have gone through everything in my storage room and sewing space. I’ve pulled my lists of projects in my bins and have started to update my list.

I use the spreadsheet that Quilting Gail shared several years ago, but I do need to update it!

This week I’ll even manage to link up with our To-Do Tuesday and the other parties I enjoy.

In closing I’d like to thank you for visiting, for joining the To Do Tuesday linky party, for sharing the party link, and above all for being part of my quilting world. 🤗 Carol

PS. Thank you if you bought me a coffee. I do appreciate your support.

Sam and her friends always find fun projects to tease me with! 😁

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.
