Hello and welcome to my Sunday Summary and To Do Tuesday List. As you can see it’s Wednesday and I’m late reporting but better late than never!
Last week had me busy with meetings, organizing things at our Guild, sorting donations, getting DH in to town to get his glasses, and then my normal springtime cleaning obsession hit. We had a couple of snow days and then some gorgeous weather where I just wanted to have the door and windows open to let in some fresh air! Friday I finally had my eyes fixed surgery (took all of 10 minutes) but my heavens it’s so nice to see again! It meant I saw the spill spots I couldn’t see before so the whole apartment had to be stripped and scrubbed. That also has me rearranging furniture since I can now see how DH has to work to maneuver the walker when he has to use it on his bad days. So I’m going to show photos of my sewing corner and cutting table and my newly organized storage room (all taken on Saturday). Don’t judge me! I’m being honest here! 🤣

My Last To-Do Goals:
Obviously I’ve not had any stitching time, but I do have two Quilting Days at the Guild this week, only 1 town trip and my home is almost tidy and ready to sew. In my cleaning frenzy I even sorted my trunk and the bins and found the last WIPs I had packed when we moved. I’ve sorted my projects and put them in easy to access spots. Yes there are that many and I did sort them to make sure I still want to make them all. 🙄
My list hasn’t changed so I’ve just duplicated it again. 🥹
1. Keep working on my EPP, embroidery and embroidery sampler as time and my eyesight allow. No progress but I can see now so I should have some hand stitching time in the evenings now! 😉
2. Finish the pattern test. This is now a priority. Still no progress. 🤞🏻
3. I need to get myself organized because Gail from Quilting Gail and some of my other favourite on line friends are almost finished their projects on the SAHRR 2025.

Check with our friend Quilting Gail. No progress. 😢
4. Continue plugging away at the memory quilts for my son, granddaughters and Clarke’s family from a collection of T-shirts from my son, DIL and granddaughters and our Clarke’s clothing. No progress. 😢

5. Keep playing with the orphan blocks and goodies from Denise, with some additions from my stash, to use up more bits and pieces until those project boxes are empty. No progress. 😭

6. Finish making the test block from my crumb blocks to see if my design idea will work as I had planned. No progress 😢

7. Get caught up with Gail from Quilting Gail’s Mystery QAL since it’s finished a while ago.. No progress, but the pattern is printed so someday……..😏

8. Check to see if I left this at the studio. This has to be found and moved to the top of the list. If I didn’t leave it at the studio I will have to remake it since I have to deliver a finished green quilt soon. It wasn’t even stashed in my storage room so I’ll have to remake it. 😭

This little quilt needs to be 48” x 84” when it’s done. Decisions need to be made how to add more borders! 🤔
9. Assemble these blocks to a flimsy and decide on adding borders at that time. No progress on this one! 😢

10. Do not let Samantha or any of her squirrel buddies side track me🐿🐿🐿🐿. No check mark since Samantha did sidetrack me by letting me see the dust and spills that had accumulated while my eyesight was so bad. 😉
This Week’s goals:
Now it’s time for my new To Do Tuesday List:

1. Keep working on my EPP, embroidery and embroidery sampler as time and my eyesight allow if I get called in to see the surgeon.
2. Finish the pattern test. This is now a priority.
3. I need to get myself organized because Gail from Quilting Gail and some of my other favourite on line friends are almost finished their projects on the SAHRR 2025.

4. Continue plugging away at the memory quilts for my son, granddaughters and Clarke’s family from a collection of T-shirts from my son, DIL and granddaughters and our Clarke’s clothing.😁

5. Keep playing with the orphan blocks and goodies from Denise, with some additions from my stash, to use up more bits and pieces until those project boxes are empty.

6. Finish making the test block from my crumb blocks to see if my design idea will work as I had planned.

7. Get caught up with Gail from Quilting Gail’s Mystery QAL since it finished a while ago.. 🤩

8. I will have to remake this since I haven’t found it anywhere and I do have to deliver a green quilt to our Treasurer at the Guild who is retiring next month and has been training me to do the job. I ask you, how do you lose a quilt top in a tiny apartment? 😭

9. Assemble these blocks to a flimsy and decide on adding borders at that time.

10. Do not let Samantha or any of her squirrel buddies side track me🐿🐿🐿🐿.
Stitchin’ Time

Kate from Life in Pieces hosts a weekly linky party to help us keep to our goals of stitching every day. I just love her new logo!
I’m trying for at least 30 minutes a day this year and 1 hour at the end of the week to tidy up and deal with my scraps. I wasn’t really off to a good start, but it is getting better as things settle down in my real life time and commitments lessen. 🤔
- January 4/31
- February 2/28
- March 0/15
- this week 0/7
- Previous Total 6/67
- Total: 6/74
- Percentage = 8.01 %
My numbers can only start getting better now that I will be organized and have more time, right?!? I hope you all get to set and keep your goals for your Stitching Time and join Kate. 😁

Stash Report

I like to link with Donna @ QuiltPaintCreate to keep track of fabric in and out of my stash. If I can plan trips to the studio I expect my stash to be reduced terrifically when I start making backings for all of the quilt tops I’ve got to do. 😁
- Fabric Used: 0 yards
- Fabric Purchased this week: 0 yards
- Fabric Previous Balance: 12 yards
- Fabric Purchased this year: 0 yards
- Balance in stash to use this year: 188 yards
* my goal is to lessen my stash by 200 yards this year. My goal this year is to use 200 yards of fabric from my stash. 😉
* any fabric used from the scrap bins, was gifted or a prize; doesn’t count as stash!

It’s always nice to have a clean space to stitch in and the rest of the house clean too. You don’t feel so guilty. So glad you got your eyes fixed and can now get back to all the things you had to bypass. Happy stitching this week.

Thank you Kate! Having sight is great but boy was it horrible to see how grubby our home had become! 🫢
