Sunday Summary #195

Hello and welcome to my Sunday Summary and To Do Tuesday List.

I had to apologies for not getting last week’s To-Do Tuesday linky party posted. On the weekend DH took another fall. Next thing I knew the ambulance had to be called and a hospital stay was involved. In hindsight sight it is just a bit funny because I was involved in doing fundraisers on Saturday and Sunday. Other Board Members from the Golf Club stepped up and covered my shifts. 😅 Once I had DH sorted out and back home and settled I came down with a nasty bug which had me laid up for several days. The only things I could manage were to make sure DH was fed and dressed. My Sunday was the first day I was able to shower and function almost normally.

My Last To-Do Goals:

Obviously I’ve not had any stitching time, but Fundraising is now complete and the Clubhouse is now put to bed until the Lease Operators take over in April.

My list hasn’t changed so I’ve just duplicated it again. 🥹

1. Keep working on my EPP, embroidery and embroidery sampler as time and my eyesight allow. No progress.

2. Finish the pattern test. This is now a priority. Still no progress. Some of these pieces are too small for me to see to be able to stitch them, but soon. 🤞🏻

3. I need to get myself organized because Gail from Quilting Gail and some of my other favourite on line friends are almost finished their projects on the SAHRR 2025.

Check with our friend Quilting Gail. No progress. 😢

4. Continue plugging away at the memory quilts for my son, granddaughters and Clarke’s family from a collection of T-shirts from my son, DIL and granddaughters and our Clarke’s clothing. No progress. 😢

5. Keep playing with the orphan blocks and goodies from Denise, with some additions from my stash, to use up more bits and pieces until those project boxes are empty. No progress. 😭

6. Finish making the test block from my crumb blocks to see if my design idea will work as I had planned. No progress 😢

7. Get caught up with Gail from Quilting Gail’s Mystery QAL since it’s finished a while ago.. No progress, but the pattern is printed so someday……..😏

8. Check to see if I left this at the studio. This has to be found and moved to the top of the list. If I didn’t leave it at the studio I will have to remake it since I have to deliver a finished green quilt soon.  It wasn’t at the studio so I’ll have to remake it. 😭

This little quilt needs to be 48” x 84” when it’s done. Decisions need to be made how to add more borders! 🤔

9. Assemble these blocks to a flimsy and decide on adding borders at that time. No progress on this one! 😢

10. Do not let Samantha or any of her squirrel buddies side track me🐿🐿🐿🐿. I get a check mark here! I had no time for Sam to sidetrack me 😉

This Week’s goals:

Now it’s time for my new To Do Tuesday List:

1. Keep working on my EPP, embroidery and embroidery sampler as time and my eyesight allow if I get called in to see the surgeon.

2. Finish the pattern test. This is now a priority.

Stitchin’ Time

Kate from Life in Pieces hosts a weekly linky party to help us keep to our goals of stitching every day. I just love her new logo!

I’m trying for at least 30 minutes a day this year and 1 hour at the end of the week to tidy up and deal with my scraps. I wasn’t really off to a good start, but it is getting better as things settle down in my real life time and commitments lessen. 🤔

  • January 4/31
  • February 2/28
  • these weeks 0/14
  • Previous Total 6/53
  • Total: 6/67
  • Percentage = 8.96 %

I hope you all get to set and keep your goals for your Stitching Time and join Kate. 😁

Stash Report

I like to link with Donna @ QuiltPaintCreate to keep track of fabric in and out of my stash. If I can plan trips to the studio I expect my stash to be reduced terrifically when I start making backings for all of the quilt tops I’ve got to do. 😁

  • Fabric Used: 0 yards
  • Fabric Purchased this week: 0 yards
  • Fabric Previous Balance: 12 yards
  • Fabric Purchased this year: 0 yards
  • Balance in stash to use this year: 188 yards

* my goal is to lessen my stash by 200 yards this year. My goal this year is to use 200 yards of fabric from my stash. 😉

* any fabric used from the scrap bins, was gifted or a prize; doesn’t count as stash!

Design Wall Mondays

Judy, at Small Quilts and Doll Quilts, hosts a linky party for “Design Wall Mondays” every week.

I’m including some photos of my current WIPs;

My UFO and WIP List

Last but not least I have finally updated my UFO Speadsheet and am now going to try keeping it up to date and so help with my accountability.

I use the spreadsheet that Quilting Gail shared several years ago. 😁

In closing I’d like to thank you for visiting, for joining the To Do Tuesday linky party, for sharing the party link, and above all for being part of my quilting world. 🤗 Carol

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.

  1. Oh my word, what a week!! What, no sewing?! Forget Samantha the Squirrel; you got sidelined by Vicki the Velociraptor straight out of Jurassic Park. It sounds like both of you are okay and doing much better this week, thank goodness. That yellow and purple top is just gorgeous, like sunshine and violets.

    1. Thank you Rebecca. We are both doing fine. Bob went and played 2 holes of golf one day last week and I spring cleaned, and rearranged my sewing corner. The yellow and purple started me thinking of spring so spring cleaning had to be done! 😉
