Hello and welcome to my Sunday Summary and To Do Tuesday List.
How has your week gone? Mine was filled with fundraising, a medical appointment for me and one complete day of fabric fun at my Guild. It was heavenly on Thursday to be cut off from media; no phone, internet or tv for the 6 hours spent with my quilty buddies! Then on Friday I headed out with Steve and Carol (thank you my friends) for the two hour drive to Trail to see my opthamological surgeon. I’d been told to have a driver since they would be “fixing” my eyes finally! 😎. We got there and I had my eyes dilated and then did all of the testing. Met with the surgeon and he told me that my condition had worsened since my checkup in April. Then he said he would normally fix them, but the power supply had given up the ghost on his laser equipment and with the weather we’ve been having the flights have been cancelled. Really love our mountainous terrain but it can cause issues with flight plans 😢 the good news is I have an appointment on the 14th of March to get the surgery and if they can get me in sooner they will. 😎
My Last To-Do Goals:
With the fundraising at the Golf Club going on and doing a bunch of sorting for our annual fundraiser at the Guild, I’d not have much time to get sewing done most days, but I spent Thursday at the Guild; no internet, phone or tv meant I was able to concentrate on fabric and my friends.
1. Keep working on my EPP, embroidery and embroidery sampler as time and my eyesight allow. Soon I’ll be able to see and share some progress on these projects! 😏
2. Finish the pattern test. This is now a priority. Still no progress. Some of these pieces are too small for me to see to be able to stitch them, but soon. 🤞🏻
3. I need to get myself organized because Gail from Quilting Gail and some of my other favourite on line friends are almost finished their projects on the SAHRR 2025.

Check with our friend Quilting Gail
4. Continue plugging away at the memory quilts for my son, granddaughters and Clarke’s family from a collection of T-shirts from my son, DIL and granddaughters and our Clarke’s clothing. I worked on these quilt blocks at the Guild and have enough completed for two more quilts, but I forgot to take any photos!😁

5. Keep playing with the orphan blocks and goodies from Denise, with some additions from my stash, to use up more bits and pieces until those project boxes are empty. I did some planning for the next projects! 😁

6. Finish making the test block from my crumb blocks to see if my design idea will work as I had planned. This will have to wait until my eyes are fixed 😭

7. Get caught up with Gail from Quilting Gail’s Mystery QAL since it’s finished a while ago.. No progress, but the pattern is printed so someday……..😏

8. Check to see if I left this at the studio. This has to be found and moved to the top of the list. If I didn’t leave it at the studio I will have to remake it since I have to deliver a finished green quilt soon. It wasn’t at the studio so I’ll have to remake it. 😭

This little quilt needs to be 48” x 84” when it’s done. Decisions need to be made how to add more borders! 🤔
9. Assemble these blocks to a flimsy and decide on adding borders at that time. No progress on this one! 😢

10. Do not let Samantha or any of her squirrel buddies side track me🐿🐿🐿🐿. I get a check mark here! I had no time for Sam to sidetrack me 😉
This Week’s goals:
My last weekend of fundraising for the Golf Club is this next weekend, so I’m not sure how much stitching time I’ll get in this week. Then I’ll just be supervising painters and meeting with suppliers and the new Lease Operators for the clubhouse and doing my normal Secretarial duties until next fall. All I can say is I’m proud of all my volunteers and I am so ready to get back to my “normal” life! 😆
Now it’s time for my new To Do Tuesday List:

1. Keep working on my EPP, embroidery and embroidery sampler as time and my eyesight allow if I get called in to see the surgeon.
2. Finish the pattern test. This is now a priority.
3. I need to get myself organized because Gail from Quilting Gail and some of my other favourite on line friends are almost finished their projects on the SAHRR 2025.

4. Continue plugging away at the memory quilts for my son, granddaughters and Clarke’s family from a collection of T-shirts from my son, DIL and granddaughters and our Clarke’s clothing.😁

5. Keep playing with the orphan blocks and goodies from Denise, with some additions from my stash, to use up more bits and pieces until those project boxes are empty.

6. Finish making the test block from my crumb blocks to see if my design idea will work as I had planned.

7. Get caught up with Gail from Quilting Gail’s Mystery QAL since it’s finished a while ago.. 🤩

8. Check to see if I left this at the studio. This has to be found and moved to the top of the list. If I didn’t leave it at the studio I will have to remake it since I have to deliver a finished green quilt soon. It wasn’t at the studio so I’ll have to remake it. 😭

9. Assemble these blocks to a flimsy and decide on adding borders at that time.

10. Do not let Samantha or any of her squirrel buddies side track me🐿🐿🐿🐿.
Stitchin’ Time

Kate from Life in Pieces hosts a weekly linky party to help us keep to our goals of stitching every day. I just love her new logo!
I’m trying for at least 30 minutes a day this year and 1 hour at the end of the week to tidy up and deal with my scraps. I wasn’t really off to a good start, but it is getting better as things settle down in my real life time and commitments lessen. 🤔
- January 4/31
- February 1/15
- this week 1/7
- Previous Total 5/46
- Total: 6/53
- Percentage = 11.32 %
I hope you all get to set and keep your goals for your Stitching Time and join Kate. 😁

Stash Report

I like to link with Donna @ QuiltPaintCreate to keep track of fabric in and out of my stash. If I can plan trips to the studio I expect my stash to be reduced terrifically when I start making backings for all of the quilt tops I’ve got to do. 😁
- Fabric Used: 0 yards
- Fabric Purchased this week: 0 yards
- Fabric Previous Balance: 12 yards
- Fabric Purchased this year: 0 yards
- Balance in stash to use this year: 188 yards
* my goal is to lessen my stash by 200 yards this year. My goal this year is to use 200 yards of fabric from my stash. 😉
* any fabric used from the scrap bins, was gifted or a prize; doesn’t count as stash!

So glad you got in one good day of stitching last week. You are so busy, it’s a wonder you get any stitching time in during the week. Fingers crossed they can get you in earlier. It has to be frustrating to not be able to do things you’d like.

Hi Kate. Is it awful that I’m looking forward to my volunteer time slowing down? I’m looking forward to the surgery and getting more stitching time in. Plus the weather will soon see DH getting out to play golf; even if it is only one or two holes. 🤗

Thank you Cheree. Sounds like we have the same idea; must be a reason why my appt got postponed. Maybe I’m supposed to slow down a bit more? 🤣
