Sunday Summary #153

I was so happy when I was finally able to take this photo after two days of snow:

We had green grass showing everywhere and mud so it’s wonderful to get back to our winter! Another 2-3 feet and we might not have to worry about wildfire season. 🤔

and here’s our weather forecast (in Celsius):

And now, it’s time for the important stuff, my lists!

My Last To-Do Goals:

1. Keep working on my EPP, embroidery and leader/ender projects as time and my foot/ankle allow. No real progress 😢

2. Keep working on my Dresden blocks. Just need to add sashing. Sashing is now cut and sewing has begun! I have a finished flimsy! 😁

3. Get caught up with the Rainbow Neighbourhood QAL hosted by Sandra Walker from MMM Quilts. I’d love to get this one done. No progress 😢

4. Allow myself to keep playing on a couple of projects from the boxes of treasures I received from Denise as my leader/ender projects. I have been playing with my Accuquilt cutter, dies and some of these pretty fabrics! 😁

5. Start working on my projects for upcoming blog hops; One project is done and the second one is being worked on! Sorry but no sneak peeks allowed! 😁

6. Start planning for one of my favourite events of the year: I haven’t decided on my centre block, but do have several options. Can’t wait for the 15th when the fun begins. 😁

7. Pull my fabric selections for Project Quilting Season 15 projects and get ready to make a quilt in a week. 😁 The first challenge went live on Sunday 😁

8. Do not let Samantha or any of her squirrel buddies side track me🐿🐿🐿🐿. Somehow I just had to volunteer to do another pattern test.

This Week’s goals:

2. Get caught up with the Rainbow Neighbourhood QAL hosted by Sandra Walker from MMM Quilts.

3. Allow myself to keep playing on a couple of projects from the boxes of treasures I received from Denise as my leader/ender projects.

4. Keep working on my projects for upcoming blog hops;

5. Try to finalize my choice of a Center Block for one of my favourite events of the year:

Hosted by the amazing Quilting Gail

6. Pull my fabric and do my project for Project Quilting Season 15, the first challenge project. 😁

7. Work on/finish my pattern test.

8. Do not let Samantha or any of her squirrel buddies side track me🐿🐿🐿🐿

Stitchin’ Time

Kate from Life in Pieces hosts a weekly linky party to help us keep to our goals of stitching every day.

I’m trying for at least 30 minutes a day this year and 1 hour at the end of the week to tidy up and deal with my scraps.

  • January 7/31
  • this week 7/7
  • Previous Total 0/365
  • Total: 7/7
  • Percentage = 100 %

I hope you all get to set and keep your goals for your Stitchng Time and join Kate. 😁

Stash Report

I like to link with Donna @ QuiltPaintCreate to keep track of fabric in and out of my stash.

  • Fabric Used: 1 yard
  • Fabric Purchased this week: 0 yards
  • Fabric Previous Balance: 0 yards
  • Fabric Purchased this year: 0 yards
  • Balance in stash to use this year: 100 yards

* my goal is to lessen my stash by 100 yards this year. I haven’t managed to actually figure out how much fabric I really have in my stash, but I have reduced my stash these past few years and really only purchase fabric if I need it for a particular project. If I do purchase fabric I add it to my Balance in stash to use this year in order to continue reducing my stash. 😉

* any fabric used from the scrap bins, was gifted or a prize; doesn’t count as stash!

PHD in 2023

Quilting Gail was hosting PHD in 2023 Challenge but I heard a rumour from a very reliable source that someone else will be doing it this year. 😉

My UFO Lust increased over the past year so I’m hoping to have quality time with my longarm to get it shortened up and earn my PHD this year. 🤔

Thank you for stopping by and reading my post. Your comments make my day and I do reply to each one. 😉 Carol

I am so proud to be hosting this linky party which has been ongoing for several years with several hostesses (several of whom I have gotten to know and consider myself priviledged to call friends).
This was me this week as I was using my old friend Jack!

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.

  1. The Dresden Plate quilt top is looking good. Congrats on all the progress this week. We have a bit of snow, but just a dusting. I’m good with that, so long as we don’t get ice! Good luck with this week’s list.

    1. Thank you Kate. I am liking the Dresden and am trying to decide if I want it larger, but I think I’m considering it a finish for now. Luckily it will likely be in the To Be Quilted cue for months (or if I’m honest; years) since I’m not likely to have much time at the studio in the foreseeable future. Enjoy your dusting of snow. I just finished shovelling another 6-8 inches of pretty white stuff.
