Sunday Summary #147

It’s been a week! No sewing time at all but I have put in, but I did work 75+ hours! Not bad for an old lady! 😉

None of my numbers changed, or projects were advanced. I haven’t had time to check emails, read blogs or do much but work, sleep, feed my DH and do laundry. There is hope since I have a couple of resumes and we are doing interviews mid week.

My goals remain the same so here’s my list:

This Week’s goals:

1. Keep working on my EPP, embroidery and leader/ender projects.

2. Keep working on my Dresden blocks.

3. Get caught up with the Rainbow Neighbourhood QAL hosted by Sandra Walker from MMM Quilts.

4. Allow myself to keep playing on a couple of projects from the boxes of treasures I received from Denise as my leader/ender projects.

5. Work on my project for the July Sew It – Show It Challenge, Picnic Party, hosted by Carol from Just Let Me Quilt.

6. Start planning a project for the next Sew It – Show It Challenge, It’s a Dog’s Life.

7. Do not let Samantha or any of her squirrel buddies side track me. 🐿🐿🐿🐿

Fingers crossed that some fabric therapy is on my agenda!

Studio To – Do List

1. When I get back to the studio make quilting my Roll of the Dice quilt the priority and get the binding put on. No progress 😢

2. Finish my second Heading North quilt, designed by Sandra of MMM Quilts which I left at the studio. No progress 😢

3. Work on the last binding that needs to be hand stitched when I get back to the studio.  No progress 😢

Stitchin’ Time

Kate from Life in Pieces hosts a weekly linky party to help us keep to our goals of stitching every day.

I’m trying for at least 30 minutes a day this year, and have my week set as Saturday as my week end.

  • February 28/28
  • March 31/31

  • June 13/24
  • this week 0/7
  • Previous Total 148/162
  • Total: 148/169
  • Percentage = 91.36 %

Stash Report

I like to link with Donna @ QuiltPaintCreate to keep track of fabric in and out of my stash.

  • Fabric Used: 0 yards
  • Fabric Purchased this week: 0 yards
  • Fabric Previous Balance: 40 yards
  • Fabric Purchased this year: 3 yards
  • Balance in stash to use this year: 40 yards

* my goal is to lessen my stash by 100 yards this year. I haven’t managed to actually figure out how much fabric I really have in my stash, but I have reduced my stash these past few years and really only purchase fabric if I need it for a particular project. If I do purchase fabric I add it to my Balance in stash to use this year in order to continue reducing my stash. 😉

* any fabric used from the scrap bins, was gifted or a prize; doesn’t count as stash!

PHD in 2023

Quilting Gail is hosting her PHD in 2023 Challenge again this year. 😉

Thank you for stopping by and reading my post. Your comments make my day and I do reply to each one. 😉 Carol

I have been fondling fabric and creating things with fabric and fiber for as long as I can remember. My children had homemade clothes, blankets, canning and quilts most of their lives. Now I create goodies to share! Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy making them! When I am not creating with fiber or fabric I keep busy with Dear Heart, kids, grandkids, great grandkids.

  1. It must be a great feeling to know you can still keep a business going! Fingers crossed you find just the right person for the job. Interviewing was actually my least favorite part of the job, because I wanted to give the job to every person who wanted it (people management is not my forte). At least you haven’t been bored this week – lol! Not that you are ever bored. 😀

  2. Sorry you haven’t been getting any sewing in! I hate those times. But maybe you will find some time for you soon. Thanks for the link party!

    1. Hi Wendy. I couldn’t believe it when I figured out the hours I recorded! The advantage (disadvantage) to living downstairs in the clubhouse; I run upstairs to do one thing and end up being there for hours 😉

      1. My DH built the clubhouse in 1967. It was his last job before his MS diagnosis Wendy. The Board had put in a rental suite 6 years ago. When we sold the acreage we moved here so he could play golf every decent day. He says he will happily pass on here so if it makes him happy, I’ll not want to move. 😉
